Na een lekkere lange wandeling in het bos hier wezen dineren. Een klein maar erg leuk en vooral gezellig restaurant. Er hing een goede sfeer en de gastheer was echt gastvrij. Je had niet het idee dat hij aan het werk was.... t voelde meer of je op visite bij hem thuis was. Gewoon lekker relaxed en gezellig een beetje kletsen tussendoor met de gasten. En dan het eten... onze zoon heeft vaak grotere ogen dan een maag en daar ging de gastheer goed mee om, konden het altijd nog aanpassen mocht hij nog trek hebben. De spare ribs waren heerlijk mals en kwamen zo van het bot. Ook de sate was gewoon heerlijk. Het toetje was machtig en precies goed. Kan er een nog veel langer verhaal aan vastknopen maar je moet er gewoon eens aanschuiven en genieten van de sfeer en het eten. Klein maar fijn! Lex snapt hoe het moet. Hij is een goede en gezelige gastheer. De inrichting is super gezellig. Toen we er vandaag aan lande tijdens onze fietstocht voor een lunch(het restaurant ligt bijna tegen knooppunt 11 aan) werden we hartelijk ontvangen. We kregen eerst een heerlijke romige soep, en de uitsmijter ham kaas is ook aanbevelenswaardig. Kortom, daar durf ik mijn vrienden best heen te sturen. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

(Update: There seems to have been a nosedive in quality, if a recent experience and reviews on thuisbezorgd are any indication. I hope this changes.) As an American, I've got to say, so far the best burgers I've had in NL and Flanders, I found Bij Lex. I was only disappointed by the lettuce, but in truth, lettuce always disappoints me. (I prefer arugula or cabbage, which hold up better and have great flavor.) Everything else about the burger, however, was lovely--particularly the main ingredient. You can get great trimmings elsewhere in NL/Belgium, but to my great confusion, the beef itself is typically pureed to a fine paste, flattened, and herbed to the point where it no longer tastes like beef at all. Bij Lex, to my absolute relief and great adoration, does not do this. They treat their burgers with the respect they deserve. Here, you can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, and a very nice price if you take advantage of the Social Deal. Even if you don't do the deal though, with delicious pangasius fish and fries, spareribs, and burgers to choose from, you may not mind spending a little bit more. And their Grand Dessert, with caramel fudge and carrot cake included at the time of my visit, was lovely. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €10–20

5 starts because the service and the food was delicious specially the shrimps. The restaurant look is nice but would not say 5 stars.
