Very attentive service & our server was awesome! I wish I had gotten his name! Our food was brought out quickly & everything was delicious--especially the Reuben, Chicken Bacon Club & Tuna Melt sandwiches! Went on a weekday and while the food is filling it seems far from good. Not sure how close to authentic Danish food this is. The meatball sandwich: bland meatballs, a single lettuce slice which caused everything to slide off. This is the main reason for two stars. Consider skipping all open faced sandwiches here. The potato salad, lightly flavored. The sausage plate: sausages were lightly seasoned, mashed potatoes were ok although the gravy was very light in flavor, the red cabbage sweet, and the pickles were possibly best. The veggie soup was normal and heavy on the tomato taste, accompanying bread slices just ok. The service was fast since there weren't many customers during a weekday lunch. What an awful place to eat. We had a large party and the service was phenomenal, but the food was majority lacking. Most items looked like freezer foods heated up from the local Walmart. I had the cheeseburger and it was 100% a frozen patty they cooked. It just felt unnatural. The fries were good, but not fresh. The clam chowder was good but didn't appear to taste made in-house. My wife had the French dip and it is not something she'd order again. My sister had the BLT and didn't even finish a quarter of it. My little sister had mac and cheese and it appeared to be boxed mac and cheese, small portion, for $11. Did I mention it's outrageously overpriced as well for the food quality? I came here when I visited my grandparents growing up and it's sad to see what I feel of it today. We will not be coming back nor recommending anybody to come here. I had the combination and wife a salad with grilled chicken. Both were good. The beer selection was nice and prices fair. We were anxious to have the buffet since we hadn't been in years, got there, no buffet and remodeled. Prices were extremely high, but we thought we'd stay. I ordered the Lamb Shank (which the waitress said was popular and people liked it), and it was absolutely horrible!! Lamb shanks are to be braised slowly to fall off the bone. This was so tough and dry I couldn't even get the meat off of the bone and when I did it was tasteless and very bland. The gravy looked good but had no flavor whatsoever, and was very flour-y tasting, inedible. I mentioned to the waitress and she offered me more gravy since I said how dry it was. That didn't help either, so just left it. The red cabbage was tasty, but my husband's Reuben was very chintzy with the corned beef, a thin sandwich is not what he was expecting. Bread was soggy and the potato salad was like mashed potatoes, horrible in every way. This is not like the original Red Viking, so beware, I wish we'd never gone and wasted the money, went away hungry. 2 stars at best. Not Recommended!! Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2
