Wow! While traveling I stopped into this cute little bakery/coffee shop after reading the positive reviews online. The establishment has a positive vibe European atmosphere. The service, coffee and coffee cake were spot on delicious.

Although the food & coffee at Queen City is amazing, I’m giving them a 3/5 solely due to customer service. Last fall, I visited with my sister. It was late afternoon on a Saturday, and they weren't busy at all. I was met with a very cold & annoyed barista who treated us like we were nuisances for being there. I tried not to let her poor attitude get to me since everyone has bad days, & I like to give stores second chances. However, I went back again yesterday to grab a coffee & food to-go to celebrate my birthday. I went at 10am on a Saturday, so they were much busier, but the line was moving quickly. The customer service I received was even worse this time. The barista kept asking “what else?” in an annoyed tone every time I added something onto my order, and he spoke to me like I’d personally wronged him. I’m a very easy & forgiving customer. As someone with social anxiety, I always make sure to order quickly & efficiently when there’s long lines, and I always speak kindly & with a smile. To be met with hostility from the baristas on two different occasions makes me question the culture that’s been created at Queen City. Even though the food & decor is terrific, it’s not worth it to feel belittled & talked down to, especially on my own birthday. Based on some of the reviews I’ve read, I’m not the first person to receive this treatment. I seriously hope the managers look into their customer service & do some reflection, because if that’s the only thing keeping customers from returning, it feels like a waste of a good bakery.
