Four of us were going to be in Ely. We looked online for dinner options, and there were two in Ely. Casey's and Odie's. Being of sound mind off to Odie's we went. They have a complete menu. Entrees for everybody. Wide open seating area that was well lit and warm. Staff was engaging and pleasant. Old-time sidewalk menu board listing daily specials. It's hard to decide, so I had two entrees. WE FOUND A GEM ON THE SOUTHEASTERN SIDE OF CEDAR RAPIDS METRO AREA. We started going to Odies after our go to local restaurant closed due to a fire. It’s been almost 2 years and we haven’t went back to the other restaurant even when it reopened. Even though it’s not as close, we love Odies food and staff. They are excellent! We brought relatives from Florida here and they came back here with other family members the next day! It’s great food, great service and not your usual bar food. We come typically about every other weekend. We love it here! Went to all you can eat chicken and fries and the chicken had no flavor no seasoning but worst of all way over cooked and super dry, then the fries were undercooked and grease logged. When I said something to the waitress she replied what do you expect for $9.99? ok then I won't be be back. This place is awesome!! Took my kids here for lunch. Between the free popcorn, the TVs and the coloring books my kids were in heaven. The service is awesome. Our server gave us tips on the bike trail and the food was excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant if you're ever in Ely. Went for the all you can eat broasted chicken, it came with fries and fresh coleslaw made very simple. I was actually surprised by how big it was inside. The food was served family style. The service was good. They also have homemade cheesecake. Overall, I was very impressed with experience, and I would recommend anyone to go check them out. Well worth the drive. Great small town bar with a piece of progressive upbeat flavor. This is not your parents small town bar, they have embraced bicycles, good food, local beers and spirits, Well done Odie’s. The day I was there, it was a great mix of locals driving pick ups and out of towners on bicycles all enjoying some upgraded bar food, big grove beers and live music,

Cody's bar is a small town bar that serves fantastic food. The food came out piping hot the french fries awesome overall the food was excellent. The only reason I did not give them five stars is their credit card policy. They charge you a convenience fee for using your credit card. And they notify you of this when you're ready to pay not on the menu or anywhere else. Other than that I would eat here again.
