This place is a delight! Ordered the chicken luncheon special me with coleslaw my hubby French fries. They threw in some of the wedges because we had never been before. They were the best, but everything was great, including the manager and the guy running the counter. I have been eating here for years and have never had a bad experience or bad bite of food. I of course the chicken is excellent but I highly recommend the fish dinner with broasted potatoes. North Shack Inc is my new chicken haven! The place has this cool vibe, and the smell of their fried chicken is irresistible. I tried their classic fried chicken, and it was crispy perfection – juicy on the inside and just the right amount of seasoning. Definitely coming back for more! Best Broasted Chicken anywhere. And their Coleslaw is a perfect accompaniment. The cod, shrimp, perch, mushrooms, cheese sticks, onion rings, broasted potatoes and french fries are ok but the star here is definitely the chicken. Been coming here for decades. Same owner. Not surprised this place had no patrons when I stopped during dinner rush at 6 pm. Traveling in the area for work and I stopped based on reviews (4.3). Food was subpar. Tried to order the fish and they were out. Settled for chicken and "roasted potatoes". Potatoes were not roasted. Just unseasoned deep fried potatoe chunks. Then I get my order and see a shelf off to the side with sauces. Any patron can assume that's where one can select sauces to enjoy with meal, NOPE! I was quickly haulted and told customers are not allowed there, even though it was on the same side as the ordering counter and the only divider was a foldup table that only took up half the walkway with no signs stating other wise. Oh, and i had to pay extra. So even thought I ordered a meal (which already cost $15+), I still had to pay extra for sauce and I wasn't even given silverware or napkins. This was my first time at North Shack. The service was fantastic. I had foot surgery & it was my first time out in a month. An employee came from behind the counter to my table in the dining room to answer my questions & take my order bc I needed to sit down. I had spicy chicken. It was so good! The chicken here is really good. The way they pressure cook it creates a perfect balance of tender and moist chicken, but also crispy on the outside. It is definitely the best chicken tenders I have ever had. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The wait is a bit longer than average for chicken tenders, but it is due to how it is cooked. We called in our order and was told that it would be 20 minutes. We know that they are busy on the weekends so we gave it an extra 10 minutes. When we got there we paid and then had to wait another 20 minutes before we received the food. The fried foods tasted like they were using old oil. But I have to say that the ribs were some of the best we have ever had. The price and how much you got with the ribs was actually quite amazing. I had to take a star off for the fried foods, the extra long wait, and the place is rather grimey. The ribs will have us coming back.
