Better make reservations. If you want to get a good seat for the races, you'll need to call ahead. Most people dont leave until after the races are over once they get there. Additionally the food seems overpriced. The only fun pro tip I can share is that the bar area is where the jockeys, owners, and trainers hang out during the races. You can get some insider tips if you bump into the right person
I have been coming there for 5yrs now. The food used to be enjoyable. It is now horrible. They can't even make a drink correctly. You have your waitresses running from one end of the dining room to the other. Waiting on tables. That is is horrible. You have all kinds of tables sitting there empty. Staff your restaurant to handle your customers that have chosen your restaurant to come to. We have chosen not to come back to your lack of concern for your customers!!
Reservation system is horrible. Don’t call, it’s just a waiting list. Drove 1h and 40 min thinking we had reservations. Special occasion to have a nice meal and watch the horses with my wife... and could not accommodate us. To make it worse the place was 75% empty and they could not seat us. Had to leave to go eat down the road.
Tried to take my grandmother here for her birthday. They wouldnt make a reservation for 10 people. The manager was suppose to call us and never did. Rude people. Prior experience the food was very very pricey and didnt have very many choices to pick from. Will not go back to this restaurant
We eat here every time we come to Grantville. When my husband made the reservation he request a specific table so we could watch the horses. To our disappointment when we arrived they gave our table away and was going to sit us at another table with a poor view. We ask to speak with the manager and Brooke the manager came over to speak with us. After explaining to Brooke what happen she immediately moved us to a table that we were happy with. Thank you Brooke for taking care of this issue without hesitation.
The only reason they got a 2 star was because our waitress rocked!
We went here for Thanksgiving yesterday. Horrible! The only good thing I can say was our waitress rocked. The food - awful! The turkey was ok, chicken was good enough to eat, mac and cheese was bland, potatoes were horrible, and the roast they had on the buffet was so hard and dry it was not something you could eat even though it was in grave. I suspect it was out too long also. We went to the starter table and the salad has spaghetti type carrots on the top of it. When you tried to get some salad, the whole lot of carrots came off so that is all you got. Horrible idea! Not many fixings to go on top of the salad either. The rest of the starters were so-so on options.I was concerned they had shrimp out for eating but no way to keep them cold enough I would even try them if I could eat them - I'm allergic to them so I did not try. Moving to the desert table. 1st, they had a fountain to put items in, but most of the items were candy. The brownies were so hard I bet I could have thrown them through a window! The candy had been out too long so they were old and hard to eat. I had a slice of apple pie and it was definitely NOT made from scratch but boxed, just like the Mac & cheese I suspect. Very limited on types of food even though they stated buffet. will NEVER spend $27 on that again! Don't waste your time. Management needs to learn how to put food out so they do not get old and hard. For the price, I expected a lot better food. Sad, because the view was amazing and the waitress we had was awesome.
Food was decent, but the prices were not. I guess you pay extra for the racing entertainment. Overall, we enjoyed it, and we will probably go back at some point.
