My family and I just ate here and all of us disliked the food greatly. I visited the website prior to going to the restaurant and the photos completely captivated me! The photos disliked on the website don’t match the actual photos in the restaurant. It’s almost like the photos on the website didn’t come from the actual restaurant. Nonetheless, I told my family for weeks that we have to get to Jonathan’s BBQ and today we finally did….. Everything about the food was wrong! My family spent over $70 and left a 15% tip, even though the food wasn’t worth it at all! The sweet potatoes tasted like there was Coca Cola in it and I couldn’t figure out what seasonings were used. I’m a sweet potato connoisseur! The greens were wrong, the chicken was wrong…. When I say wrong, I’m referring to the seasoning, the taste! The seasonings were so bad that I had to force myself to eat something, which ended up being the crawfish and the almost rock hard dinner rolls! *** Not to mention, when we entered into the restaurant we weren’t greeted and had to figure out how to pay and navigate everything on our own. I’m beyond disappointed and I left this restaurant hungry!!! *** My husband is a chef and I’m sure he won’t mind sharing his recipes for many of the dishes sold here. *** If you want soul food/comfort food, check out PeachTree located on 12th Brooklyn. ** YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!
