I hate to say it, but with the continuing downfall of Whataburger, In-N-Out has started to become my go to fast food spot. These employees work so hard. Excellent teamwork. As I waited for my order to be prepared, I watched their perfect teamwork and camaraderie to serve so many customers in a timely fashion. I've been eating IN-N-OUT basically from day one and have never regretted one burger, whether a double-double or a regular burger. IN-N-OUT was where everyone met up after a game, dance, and summer on Friday and Saturday nights. My cousin was the IN-N-OUT bookkeeper for years. We were so glad to see IN-N-OUT come to Texas. Everything is the same except for the small drive-through and periodically, having to let an employee walk in front of your car while he carried a large sack of potatoes to the grill. Will I return to an IN-N-OUT? Heck yes. Is the food good? If it wasn't good, would there be a constant line of customers in their cars there placing orders to go? Would (at times) hard to find a table for dining in orders? Should you have never had an IN-N-OUT burger, there's a major part of your life missing. Go there. Order a double-double with grilled onions, fries, and a coke. In and Out is a Bay area classic that makes its way to Austin. Perfectly located for lunch before shopping at Costco, I've found that the drive-thru line here is almost always quite long and going in can be faster. I always order my fries extra crispy which does take longer to get the order (longer being relative; I tracked 9 minutes from order to pickup for a double double and extra crispy fries). My wait was rewarded - I had the best fries I've ever had at an In-and-Out here, and I've been to ones in Vegas and the Bay. Where they could use some work is balancing condiments on the burger; you can see in my photos that one side had no lettuce while the other had all of it. But I give them a 5/5 for the fries alone, which are usually the weakest point of In-and-Out. It's virtually the same price as P. Terry's (at the time of writing, $7.63 for a double double + fries at In-and-Out vs. $7.58 for a double cheeseburger and fries at a P. Terry's) so if you're a fan of good fast food burgers, it's definitely worth a stop.
