Not your typical Mexican restaurant, if you’re looking for good authentic Mexican food this isn’t the place. My wife had beef enchiladas, came with yellow cheese, the beef was barely ground and not seasoned, typically Mexican enchiladas come with red sauce, no sauce, very dry. I got the Quesorito, wasn’t for me, just heads up to anyone looking for good traditional Mexican, if you want something different, come here, wouldn’t say it was terrible just not for us! Order the popular Quesorito with Barbacoa. They are all delicious, but something about how they cooked that Barbacoa makes it special. They cover it in cheese, and smother it for a juicy treat! Price: 7 It is on the more expensive side for Mexican, but there is a la carte that is reasonable for budget eaters. Atmosphere 5 It is grungy with bad lighting. It is reminiscent of a dive bar, with sports and many tvs. It is a cross of dive bar but with some solid Mexican-American food. Interesting atmosphere and concept. Quality 8 This is above average Mexican-American food. Delicious Barbacoa, carnitas, and Carne Asada options. Their signature dish the Quesorito is large, delicious, and full of flavor. Quantity 9 The South has large portions across the menu. Even drinks are bigger than standard. If you are hungry or thirsty, this is the place to do it Service 9 The service was great, but nothing over the top. Attentive, friendly, and kind. Everything you would want from a server. This place has disgusting food and it's dirty. But they have a liquor license and it's grungy. I think people must be to drunk to actually taste the food. The service is terrible. Worst dining out nightmare I've ever experienced. I will never go there again. I'm surprised I didn't get food poisoning. Even 1 star is more than they deserve. Enjoy. We stopped in with a large group of 10 for lunch and was happily greeted by the staff. Our server was on point and was very helpful in suggesting food as it was all of our first time here. The food was excellent for everyone and there was more than enough per person. Thanks again to our server and the staff, we will return when we come back to the area.
