Tried this place for the first time and enjoyed every bit of it! The food was amazing, service great, but the parking is going to be a hassle. Lol. We started with the smoked wings that were damn good. I had the 2 meat platter with turkey and pulled pork, cucumber and tomatoe salad and Brunswick stew. My mate had the fried ribs with hash and rice. I had to add a little salt and pepper to the stew, but it was still good. I'm not a fan of Alabama white sauce either. That would probably be the only thing I'll take off the fried ribs. Oh and I need more that two pieces of pickles!😂😂😂. Definitely will visit again! Outstanding service. Good selection of craft beers. Pulled pork bbq was very tasty with good smoky flavor. They offer a variety of sauces including sc mustard. Sweet red, red, hot sauce and my favorite vinegar and pepper. Brunswick stew was spot on and loaded with chucks of meat. They offer many other sides, I found the hash and rice side very good. Hometeam barbecue is a Columbia staple! I go here about once a week with my wife. I recommend sitting at the bar if you’re solo, want lots of drinks or are super short for time. It’s conveniently located in five points and has on premise parking. The bar is phenomenal, they have a number of handmade cocktails and premium house frozen drinks, frozen Irish coffee being my favorite. Food menu is great, they’ve all of the barbecue joint items you’d expect (smoked wings, pulled pork, beef brisket, smoked chicken, ribs and smoked sausage) and a hearty list of sides (collards, mac and cheese, hash and rice, coleslaw, potato salad, Brunswick stew, chili and cucumber and tomatoes). Apps are awesome as well, pork skins are amazing (served with pimento cheese, lime and hot sauce). They also offer daily specials which range from apps to entrées. Sunday Fried chicken is phenomenal. Fried mac and cheese is a great app to snag when they’re on. Late night menu is good too if you’re looking for food after 10 pm. The atmosphere and service is ultimately the best and I really enjoy going. The food is great too, but can be a little overpriced. The brisket sliced sandwich is smoked and flavored really good, plus you get a huge basket of tater tots that could feed a small army. I know I said it before, but the staff is the greatest and are always super nice. Also I hear the beer selection is great, I'm not a big drinker but they have a huge bar with a lot to select from. What an amazing place to find!! Highly highly highly recommend patronizing this barbecue restaurant! He won’t be disappointed. Literally everything that was ordered at our table was amazing!
