Skip the food, stay for the drinks. Of all the mexican places ive gone, and I've been to many, this is officially at the bottom of my list. Its not inedible, but its not good. My waitress was great, and the bartenders were working hard, so no complaints on the service. Beer prices were very reasonable, i assume mixed drinks were as well. I don't like bashing places, so im sorry, but i feel these things need to be said. The salsa was straight up gross. There was a weird bitter aftertaste and i couldnt eat it. I got the lunch portion fajitas, which were a smaller portion but very inexpensive as well. I knew they wouldn't be great as soon as they came out because steak fajitas smell amazing when still sizzling. All i could smell was that burning black char smell. They were not very flavorful, but not awful. The refried beans were clearly out of a can and tasted like old el paso canned refried beans. This was like a mexican meal made by somebody who has not ever had traditional or good quality mexican food before. As for the interior of the restaurant, its too bright, and was clearly converted from some other old business without doing a proper renovation. It looked like someone went to the dollar store to decorate their basement for a cinco de mayo themed party. I think if they did a renovation, and brought in an authentic chef, this could be a great spot, but for now, ill just go to grab a drink or two. Unfortunately our visit wasn't up to the standards this restaurant once had. It's definitely has decreased in quality and service since my last visit years ago. The rolled chicken taquitos lacking filling, flavor and size. The Chef Irving Taco salad was mostly shredded lettuce in the shell that was a bit slimy (not fresh by look and taste). This too was also on the bland side that lacked flavor. Waitress never came back to see if we would like refills on our drinks, only to see if we wanted dessert and boxes. She was too preoccupied rolling up silverware in the booth behind us. I've had excellent meals in the past, but this one was a huge disappointment. It use to be flavorful and delicious on every visit! As more restaurants of this style have opened in towns nearby, it seems like either Guzanozs has fallen behind, or the other ones have a better recipes. Looking at some of the electrical outlets and plugs going into the outlets near our table, a deep clean has been lacking as well. The food was alright. Based on the type of service we got, we still left a tip of almost 15%. We are college students and quite broke ourselves but thought it was impolite to leave a tip that wasn’t around 15%. I come back home and later see my card has been charged a tip of almost 20%. The difference may not seem big but it was the principle behind what they did. I didn’t think they deserved a 20% tip from 2 college students who did not even receive any excellent service. Charging more than what I signed to pay on my card is illegal and, quite honestly, disappointing from such an establishment. Would warn others to be careful and visit some other place! This is a nice clean place with a good vibe and friendly staff. I was there mainly for drinks, so I didn't eat much, but what I did have was good. They have an impressive selection of Tequila with some very high end and obscure bottles in their collection. Went there for Valentine's day dinner after doctor's appointment. Their food was really good. I appreciate them offering free desert for couples on the day which was very sweet for sure. I will go again when I am in that area. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
