Last night's trip to Gruene Hall was an absolute blast! The main draw was seeing Uncle Lucius live, and they absolutely blew me away. The atmosphere at Gruene Hall was the perfect setting for their music: intimate, lively, and steeped in history. Uncle Lucius: They killed it! The music volume was perfect, The crowd energy was fantastic, Gruene Hall has a truly unique atmosphere, my first time there for a concert. The small size creates an intimate feel, and you can practically feel the music resonating through the old wood floor. It's definitely a historic gem! I only have 4 stars for food because of limited food options but didn't want to hurt the overall score of this awesome place: Gruene Hall currently only offers chips for snacks. If you're planning on spending a long time there, you might want to eat beforehand. Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Step into history at Gruene Hall. Very awe-inspiring. So much rich musical history Stop by if only to see the wonderful array of historical pictures littering the walls. Enough said. You just have to “touch that stone” if ever in Gruene or generally the New Braunfels Texas area. Atmosphere: 5
The best. We had not purchased tickets and was heartbroken after driving from Houston but we ended up being extremely lucky and able to sort it out! However, BUY TICKETS IN ADVANCE! They sell out! We saw Uncle Lucious and he is beyond Talented and Amazing. There were a lot of talks about how the venue only accepts cash but they actually do take card! Can not recommend this place enough! Went for a girls bday weekend treat and can not wait to return with my family! Price per person $10–20 Atmosphere: 5
A wonderful historical landmark to experience. Very busy, but it seemed like there were enough cars coming in and out of the parking lot so you could find a parking spot pretty easy. The bands are easy to listen to and have a great variety of music. Beer was easy to buy, and the mercantile store across the street wasn't too expensive, and the foot traffic was easy to get around while pushing our baby in her stroller. There is an officer patrolling traffic, making crossing easy to manage with so many people around. All in all, this is a great place to visit, and it should be on your list of places to see before you leave town. Happy traveling! P.S, Landa Park is right down the street! It's a great place to stop and stretch those legs after driving so long! The river is spring fed, so the water is very clear. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Fun place to hang out. Check out the pictures and see all the people who played at the hall. Great atmosphere. Dance hall is huge, stage is beautiful. Have some drinks, shoot some pool and have a good old time!! Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Step into an authentic Texas time capsule at Gruene Hall, the legendary dance hall that's been anchoring Gruene. This historic building immerses you in the very best of Texas music and culture. As soon as you walk through the weathered front doors onto that creaky wooden dancefloor, you feel transported back to the 19th century. With its tin roof, walls covered in memorabilia, and original layout, Gruene Hall amazingly stands nearly identical to when it first opened. But what truly makes Gruene Hall magical is the live music. The stage has been graced by legends like Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and George Strait playing country, blues, folk and more. Even today, live bands play almost daily on the well-worn stage. Two-stepping and waltzing on the wooden floor as the bands play is an experience like no other.

Still the best Dance Hall in Texas after all these years. Able to get up close to the performance but don't expect to be able to dance if the headliner is popular.

Situated just beyond San Antonio, lies a hidden treasure - Gruene Hall. Although this review pertains to the main hall, the charm of the entire town section cannot go unmentioned. As you step into Gruene, an aura of bygone days embraces you. The old-world vibe and the quaint boutiques dotting the streets add to the picturesque atmosphere, creating a delightful haven to explore. Even amidst the scorching August heat, Gruene Hall offered respite, maintaining a temperature that was a refreshing 10-15 degrees cooler than the outside world. It's a sanctuary for music and camaraderie, a place where the beats keep you cool. A word of advice: when heading to the bar, bring cash along for the ride. This cash-only establishment won't let you leave empty-handed – a lesson Moses and I learned firsthand. And let's not forget the rich history woven into the walls of this hall. Before your visit, take a moment to delve into its story; trust me, it'll only deepen your appreciation. This is more than a location – it's an experience waiting to unfold. Gruene Hall and the surrounding area deliver a promise of good times and lasting memories. Moses recommends Gruene Hall! Visited on August 13, 2023

Really nice hall. Lots of space inside. It has that nice Texas dance hall feel. We saw live band play. It’s ridiculously hot even when sun down (I’m from cali) But had a good brief time for the 15 minutes I was there.
