Didn’t plan on going there but we were in the Danbury Hospital area and accidentally happened upon it. Sorry forget the town. Knew the name had lots of followers so decided to try. Worst plain cheese pizza we’ve ever had, and I mean doesn’t even make the list. Forget this coal fired thing, yech. For those of you that get around, Red Wing in Walpole Ma was our best for decades. Sadly it recently closed. I know everyone has different preferences, but for me to claim a pizza is horrible, it has to be. Great stop for authentic wood-fired pizza on our way home from Florida. Easy access off the interstate. We ordered a medium and it was so big, we took rest to go for a snack later. We were in town visiting family and were told we had to get a tomato pie from Pepe's; they did not disappoint! Our server, Jillisa, was spot-on with her Margherita Pie suggestion which was delicious! I had my first experience at the Waterbury location today. I can't express to you how wonderful my experience was. My friend and I got taken care of by Gina. What a wonderful woman and true professional. Her service was the greatest feature of our visit. She made us feel like we had been there several times before. The entire establishment is warm and inviting. I've had pizza in almost every place and state you can think of. The pizza here is second to NONE. Frank Pepe’s Pizza makes one of the best pizza’s ever. The pizza was thin and crispy and done just right. The sauce was delicious. The pizza was prepared in a coal fired oven. A flavor that is hard to find anywhere else. It is no wonder that people will come from afar to try this pizza! The restaurant and the manager went out of their way to make things right for me after there was an issue with my order. They were quick and prompt to correct the situation. I wouldn’t hesitate to come here again. The restaurant is in a convenient location with plenty of parking. Most people here seem to order pickup. The restaurant does have a nice dining area. An extensive menu of different pizza choices is offered. If you like great pizza give this place a try!
