I'm from out of town. First time eating here. First, I have to say the service (especially Jose), was great. He was very friendly and super pleasant to talk to. Pretty nice atmosphere... I really appreciated the murals. Food though: The salsa was super tasty (better than what's typically found in the Midwest). So it gave me great hopes! Regretfully the meal was very disappointing. I ordered chile poblano (one of my most favorite dishes), and got some kind of bland hamburger meat in a cheese sauce, poured over a poblano pepper. If that's what I ordered.... This isn't close to any Mexican food I've ever had before. And I'm half Hispanic. 🥴 And familiar with typical mid-west "Mexican food". Ha! Rice and beans were very mild and somewhat bland. (Typical for the region) Anyways, not sure if this is the best (or only) option in town or not? But I won't be recommending it unless you want to go for a beer, salsa, and chips .... and friendly faces. My friends ranted and raved about this place. They are regulars here I guess. I was visiting from out of town. Right off the bat I thought our waiter was rude, cold and very short with us. I had never been there before and my friends told him that yet he seemed to be rushing me to make my food choice. They were not busy and there were only 3 cars in the parking lot. One of which was ours. When our food came it was nice and hot and what we ordered but nothing exceptional for a Mexican restaurant. Except I will give them credit for some of the best French fries I've had in a long time which my friends son ordered. Other then that I'm not impressed. My friend picked up the check and several days later we were going to grab lunch again and her son was begging to go back and I heard her mention how much it had cost for us to eat there. For 2 adults and a child, mind you we did NOT order anything special or extras. No fancy drinks. In fact us adults had waters and ordered the lesser meal specials and the bill was over $80. Everything was clean. The staff was all very pleasant, helpful, and very quick. Our meals came out quicker than expected, given it was noon. Pricing was fair. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
