Very good food and service. A little crowded. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the service was good. We ordered different types of mussels. Graten mussels was very nice and tasteful. I cannot say the same about mussels by family recipe (it was all about cooked onion which killed the flavour of the mussels, no other expected flavour). Also one third of shells were empty and size wasn't big. As a desert they suggested the chef's choice brownis with orange icecream. Brownis was very dry and tasted old, and was cold. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €50–60 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
This restaurant is super RACIST, the boss thinks it’s okay to HARASS young girls (me and my friends). They charge you extra and the food is super BAD. I wouldn’t recommend to come here!!

AVOID THIS RESTAURANT! Staff thinks it's funny to prank clients. The boss doesn't care about the inappropriate behaviour of his staff. Service Dine in Price per person €80–90
Fine meals, the price is a little bit high on the high end for a good price / quality balance. The staff is friendly but needed some work-in as this missed a few things but as this was the first weekend after their holiday this was more than acceptable. When in the neighborhood, this is surely a recommendation as the restaurant has nice outside terraces and a lot of room inside.

Does it get any better than this. When it comes to mussels it really does not. The service is always personal, friendly and swift. I do not think these people know me, though I have been there more than 6 times, but the intervals between each visit are long. The mussels and french fries (or bread) are à volontée (all you can eat) and have never disappointed my guests or me. Belief me twice I was forced to go elsewhere because we forgot to make a reservation and ended up with mussels that were less tasty and more expensive. My children enjoyed their meal. Our son does not like mussels but was more than pleased with his fish dish. Our daughter, loves mussels, but wanted something else. She loved the soup, the virgin mochito and cheese croquet. I will add this that since I first went there, about a decade or so ago, prices have more than doubled but De Oude Haven is not the only one and they are still cheaper than most of the competition in Philippine. So if you want a real Belgian experience, most customers in Philippine are Belgian, you need to go and eat 'Belgian' mussels (actually grown is Zeeland, the Netherlands) in Philippine. And De Oude Haven is still, in my view, the best of the lot.
The mussels are very nice, quite pricey but it stands up to the taste and quality. I also ordered fried eel (paling), but it has a smaller portion, yet more expensive that the mussels. Not sure why 🤔. A nice family restaurant all in all ... our 2 yo got a nice treatment/ attention too. :)
On advice of a Dutch colleague I passed here with my wife and son to eat mussels. We made the reservation, but it took us longer to get there. We were ten minutes later. So I register and apologize that I am a bit later to the man who later turned out to be the owner. After which he answers: "oh, I had already crossed out your name". We got a table at the door and sat down, but didn't get the menu. I asked one of the waiters "the menu", after which he gives us exactly one menu booklet. The mussels were good, but not too special as I hoped they would have been. It is clear they cook it in large quantities as they are served in open metal bowls of different sizes. The mussel vegetables are thoroughly chopped and almost become a mush. Not my taste, but tastes can differ. Still had to follow the biggest disappointment, the price!
Definitely a place that focuses solely on mussels. As I'm not a big fan of them I chose one of the meat options in the menu. The meat itself was good, but it was also the only thing that was served on the plate. They also served a small salad in a different cup which was just the most basic lettuce and tomato salad. All dishes are served with fries of average quality. It wasn't really busy in the restaurant so the staff seemed nice. The owner took some time to talk with the guests too, apart from us. Probably because he knew the rest of the guests. Strange thing was that the owner was always in the restaurant keeping an eye on his employees and sort of commanding his troops so to speak. This didn't really look inviting to us as all the guests could hear what he was saying. I myself wouldn't come here again, and I'm hesitant to recommend it to others.
