Bar is a great place to grab dinner or chat with a friend until around 10 to 11pm. The upstairs area is shoulder to shoulder young guys who can't hold their liquor. This is the new ghetto spot in towson after 10pm. So depending on what you are looking for it's either a 5 star or 1 star.
Do not recommend. Used to be the cool spot.. maybe it still is. Been a while since I’ve tried the food but it wasn’t bad, the management though ….needed some work. I did not work there long but during my first week the managers CHILD (old enough to know better) tried to smack me in the face when I asked her not to play behind the bar. Kids have behaviors but you could at least apologize for them if you can’t control them.
I was there today sitting at the bar with a guy coworker for lunch. The bar tender was a comedian and kept talking to us. A little conversation is fine but I could barely have conversation with my friend. Also, the language of the bartender and another guy behind the bar was the occasional f this and f that and a few off color jokes. Not very respectful to me.
First, I was happy to know that a woman owns this bar. I have not visited Towson for at least ten years. I know the area because I am a Towson Graduate. When I finished with my lawyer I was desperate for coffee but at 4:30pm everything was closed, but not the CVP. I sat down at the bar and encountered the bartender, Chris. He immediately offered to make a fresh pot of coffee. When he returned he told me the happy hour deals. In my early twenties I was a professional bartender at The Crazy Horse in Georgetown. What a long lost treasure! Chris paid rapt attention to every customer , made sure everyone was served. Whoever he is, hold on to him. I am anxious to come back to this well-run bar/restaurant. I’m old. 30 years ago people seemed to derive a lot of self esteem from doing a job well. Chris took me back to that time. ( just for the record I am not sleeping with him! ) Thanks also for embracing gay and trans people! You are exceptional! Trish Nicholson
