I recently tried the buffet and was extremely underwhelmed. Everyone was nice, and our waiter, bless his heart, tried his best to give us a nice experience. My problem is with the food. I get that you don't go to a BBQ town for Chinese food, but dang. I can only describe the buffet as moist and bland, emphasis on moist. The best parts were the egg rolls and fried dumplings. The dry rice situation was kind of a travesty. We only grabbed a plate each and left most of the food on those plates. Of course, those half-touched plates cost us $30. I'm torn because their take-out was much better a few months earlier. But after the buffet, I'm gonna stay away from this one. Not here to complain, just to warn about China palace in lockhart. I placed a to go order there earlier this afternoon. The rice and my husband's orange chicken was a little sketchy looking, but we thought it was just us. But after my son (1 year) and I ate rice from my meal, we've ended up SICK sick. My husband got steamed white rice (seemed fresh) and I had gotten the "egg fried rice" and it was brown, sketchy looking, no egg whatsoever and seemed really dry like it had been old batch of white rice that was reheated/mixed with soy sauce maybe??
