Good pancake house with a large menu and plenty of lunch offerings. Breakfast potatoes are good. Overall, the portion was large. The chicken fried steak was smaller and served with a small amount of thin gravy on top. Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

Recently moved to Williamsburg and decided to try Capitol Pancake House since they advertise having Gluten Free (GF). The place reminds me of an old school diner with the yummy diner food. However, Capital Pancake House has GF pancakes and waffles, which are large and GREAT!!! This is fabulous because if you are GF, you know you normally have to make these items at home yourself. There are other GF items on the menu – but nothing that involves a fryer (no dedicated fryer). Our server was knowledgeable regarding GF and made sure that everything on our plates were GF. A real homestyle breakfast place, with a lived-in feel. Had the breakfast sampler, which was huge! I enjoyed it and the potatoes were surprisingly good. I enjoyed the pancakes, but they were not as fluffy as some places, so it just depends on what you prefer. I definitely got a lot of food for what I paid, so come with a big appetite!
