We had a pleasant meal here and I especially enjoyed their fish soup which was excellent. We had one excellent main, however the halibut was a bit oily for my personal taste. Service between courses was very slow.... I think so slow that our waitress did bring over extra drinks which was a nice touch. (She was excellent). Recommended by a friend who had gone here and we are happy we followed his advice. We enjoyed the food and the service, we dined here twice for dinner and once for lunch. Did not book in advance. Had the scallops, blue mussels and reindeer fillet. We ate downstairs and upstairs. I think the upstairs window seating was the best since you get a view of the harbor. They seem to be able to accommodate group dining since we noticed a group of maybe 10 Americans seated. Despite the place being a tourist eatery, the food did not disappoint at all. I would highly recommend the reindeer fillet if you like venison. Not gamey at all and I think about the meal even now! Oh damn that’s interesting experience, is sit so easy to satisfy Norwegian or they have low expectations. we ordered Herring and fish soup, herring the whole plate is pre made from some fabric only thing on a plate was diced red onion, fish soup if I closed eyes it remind me school/cafeteria food basic creamy juice with some shrimps nothing special and no love in food, for main course we took local blue mussels they were just okay and the juice what was in bottom tastes exactly same like soup 😅😅 and that cheap butter 😅😅😅 I would expect much more love and care on foods. So never I’ll go there again.

It was a bit touristy but in a fun way and well as tourists we liked it :) The food was generally fresh and delicious. Reindeer was very tasty (sorry rudolph) but the lamb ribs were not really to our taste as they were cured before cooking (nothing wrong just our personal preference). The soup was yummy and a big portion. Quite pricey and not the best price to value ratio, but still a nice experience :) thank you to the staff!
