Downstairs was full so we were seated upstairs. Not much ambiance up there but that's okay. The service was very good, but the food was terrible for what we paid. My husband got the short ribs, which sounded great in the description. The meal was either $34 or $35 so you would expect a top notch meal. There was very little meat and a whole lot of bones. The presentation was perfect but that's where the perfection ended. He's not one to complain but it was not a good meal at all. I ordered the fish and chips which was a ton of batter and VERY LITTLE fish. Cod was on sale at Hanford this week for $6.99 a pound but I really don't think I got more than 3-4 ounces of fish for $24.00. The batter was very dark brown and overdone so it was inedible. The fries were good. One of the worst meals ever! We won't return. My drink was really good though but you really can't go wrong with gin and tonic. Had a bowl of Chili for supper, it was absolutely AWESOME! Just the right ingredients, seasonings and consistency. The poutine is to die for, coming from a Canadian. Nicely presented fresh and unique dishes make Blaze the place to be and crave to go back. The pizza is made in a real wood fired oven that creates a perfect texture and natural smoky flavor. Highly recommended. Food was decent, but not aligned with our price-based expectations. Generally an indifferent experience- nothing to write home about. In other words, not bad but not worth the money. **Staff was very kind and accommodating to our food allergies and preferences. So happy we found this place! Located in a great spot downtown with a nice little outdoor patio, it was the perfect place to enjoy two nice evenings in a row. I ordered their Fall Harvest Mule and was completely blown away! Perfect blend of delicious local apple cider, cranberry vodka, ginger beer, and a nice garnish of cinnamon apple. The Blaze House Salad was unlike any house salad I’ve ever had, perfect layering of flavors with the caramelized onion, roasted red pepper, and balsamic vinaigrette. The Wild Mushroom Pizza is to die for- piled high with tasty mushrooms, spinach, and roasted garlic cloves. Usually pizzas like this are barely sprinkled with a few little mushrooms but thankfully at Blaze, they are not shy with toppings! Food looked so good that I dug in immediately and I forgot to take pictures! We loved Blaze so much the first night that we had to come back the next evening! Thought we would try something else, but we couldn’t stop thinking about the drinks and food. Our server for both nights, Wyatt, was super friendly and great to talk to, he was knowledgeable about the food and drinks they offer, as well as the area and things to do nearby. He made us feel very welcomed and looked after. Thanks Wyatt, and compliments to the chefs!
