The food is excellent you will be pleased with anything you order, it is a store front restaurant that is clean and comfortable they have drinks and desserts the bread was home made & incredibly good I had the great leaves. My guest had the beef kebabs. They agreed roasted potatoes were excellent I capped it off without Armenian coffee. It's a Greek and Armenian restaurant and I will say that the food is authentic. Finally got to visit the Aegean’s Waltham location, was a huge fan of their former one and it is just as good as it ever was. I look forward to enjoying their food for many more visits, great stuff as always and I highly recommend. We were regular long time customers of the Aegean when it was located in Framingham. We had moved out of Metrowest years ago and recently discovered that the Aegean opened in Waltham. We visited the Aegean and we were not disappointed. The menu hasn’t changed much from the original menu and the food quality is of the same high caliber. The service was excellent, our dinners were delicious (including the freshly baked bread) and the atmosphere is authentic. We will definitely revisit on our next trip to the Metrowest area. I'm Greek. I love all things Greece and Greek- except the Aegean Restaurant. Service was terrible. The waiter was unable to talk about any of the dishes on the menu. He was a kid, so let's give that a pass. My companion got her salad and it was soupy because it was so drenched in oil and completely overdressed. She politely asked the manager to take it back. The acting manager came over and it was so rude. Sooooo rude. Where is the Greek hospitality? Missing apparently, because I didn't see any Greeks working there. That should have been a big red flag. Our food came out and her garlic broccoli was ice cold and she asked for her lamb to be rare but it was well done. My Moussaka was completely inedible. I paid for my meal and literally took one bite. When I told the waiter it was inedible he said okay and brought the bill. I have never had an experience like this. It was bizarre. The Greeks are known for wonderful food and even better hospitality- the Aegean did not deliver either. I will never, ever return. The place was nice and clean. The food was excellent. I had the Greek salad with steak tips. When the dish came out, the portion size pleasantly surprised me because most restaurants skimp on the steak on salads. The bowl had a skewer full of meat and charred vegetables on top of a fresh Greek salad, and I devoured every last drop. My brother got the chicken gyro, which was well-filled, and he mentioned the chicken was some of the best he’s ever eaten. If I could give more stars, I would. It was a huge disappointment for us. We had good memories from the one in Framingham years ago. The lamb ribs were cold and not very flavorful. The beef kabob was only one skewer with very little beef and it was cooked well done instead of medium like we asked. The lamb youvetsi was way over-salted. It was hard to eat. My family loves Greek and middle eastern food. Having the Aegean in Waltham is a treat. The spanakopita is light and crispy, and Aegean combo scratches the itch for a taste of many favorites. Being Italian, but growing up with Greek families and friends, the Aegean delivers mediterranean comfort food that people will enjoy. Stunning food and amazing service! Our server was really friendly and very helpful with questions and recommendations. We had the Aegean entree platter, the moussaka and pasticio were really good. Had some Greek wine with it that was also very good! The Armenian honey walnut cake dessert was to die for!
