My favorite restaurant in the world. Authentic Japanese diner food in the most unlikely of places. I've frequented Yama since ~2015 after I returned from a study abroad trip to Japan, and the quality has never declined. The service is great, the atmosphere is great, and the food is delicious. Normally I would lessen the stars for atmosphere because it is small and crowded but here it really works for the feel. The food was excellent and authentic. The workers were so kind and pleasant. I've been wanting to visit Yama for months now, and finally got the opportunity to go for dinner on Wednesday. Though their hours are limited, it was well worth the visit. Casual and cozy interior, we ordered our meal at the counter - spicy tuna rolls, miso ramen, the pork cutlet and fried salmon bento boxes. The boxes came with a delicious array of side salads and miso soup, arranged with a lot of care. You can tell the owners take a lot of pride in their food. All the food was perfectly cooked..highlight for me was the fried salmon, which was super crispy but moist and juicy inside. Absolutely delicious meal and I highly recommend visiting!!
