Awesome place.. the following is somewhat creative but being a citizen shopper i love shopping at Wal-Mart thank you! Ps. I am a former employee management..stop exchanging formats to confuse customer's.. walt would rather make the customer first.. think about it! Walt would have!
Walmart in Hastings is exactly what folks expect. The products are decent and priced well. The Hastings location is clean, and employees are helpful. We should consider this is still a Walmart, and they can swindle business from smaller stores in the area.
I had an incident today that I feel needs addressed. It started out HORRIBLY but ended with some of the most amazing customer service I've ever experienced at a Walmart. I purchased a phone from this location 2 days ago and the young lady did not scan the serial number for the phone. I attempted to activate it today but because the serial number wasn't scanned, I had to take it back to the store to have it resolved. Not a problem! I drove to the store and went to customer service. Paige, an absolute angel of a person, directed me to Electronics so that I could get things sorted out. An older woman with brunette hair was there and helping another customer so I waited for her to be done. I explained my situation and she wasn't sure how to help me, which I understand because it wasn't a common issue. That's when DIANE entered the scene. Diane was not pleasant by any means. From the first sentence that came out of her mouth, I knew this was going to be an uphill battle during an ice storm with rollerskates. If there were a poster child for horrible customer service, this lady is IT. And here is why: I explained to her my situation as calmly and politely as possible and asked if I could return the phone and then repurchase it just so that I could have the serial number scanned. Easy fix, right? Oh no. DIANE insisted that she couldn't do it because the "charger cord and block were not in the box". I again stated that I wasn't returning the device to purchase another one; I wanted to take the current device (the one I had brought with me to the store) with me and all I needed was the serial number scanned. That was all. DIANE yet again proceeded to be very rude and nasty towards me for something so insanely simple. I, at this point, was frustrated and upset because this woman made me feel like I'd stolen something even though I had a receipt in hand and just agreed to leave because I could not deal with this individual anymore. I honestly feel sorry for the brunette woman who was at the counter originally (I unfortunately did not get her name) because she had to witness this entire ordeal.
I left Electronics and decided that I was going to have a talk with a manager just to let them know how DIANE treated a customer who just wanted to get a serial number activated for the phone. Upon reaching customer service, I asked Paige if I could speak with a manager and she directed me to yet another angel (once again I did not get his name but he was a gem!) I tried to calmly explain the situation but at this point I was shaking and in tears and he asked Paige and another angel, Joann, to help me. He told them my request was absolutely doable and that DIANE made a simple transaction more difficult than it had to be. He left to handle something (I'm not entirely sure what but I am grateful for his help nonetheless) and Paige and Joann helped me to get things squared away. While they were helping me, Angel #4 (Kristina) swooped in and the three ladies not only helped me with the issue that brought me to Walmart in the first place but they went out of their way to put me at ease and cheer me up. By the time I left Walmart this morning, I was exhausted but these three beautiful souls had me laughing and smiling where I had been upset, hurt, and angry only minutes before.
I honestly believe these three women deserve a raise because they went above and beyond. They were so caring, empathetic, and genuine; a complete 180 from Diane. My 5 star rating is because of these three ladies and the manager because they genuinely care about their customers and are willing to help out with even the smallest of things. I have had a difficult 2 years and as a single mom who is overwhelmed with work and taking care of 2 kids by myself, life is already difficult enough. Joann, Paige, and Kristina gave me one of the few bright memories outside of my kids and I am so thankful for them.
Every time I look online for a product I want it will say yes # of items are here in isle k12 or whatever isle so I get in the truck and head off to get it and I get there and would you look at that! nope!!! Not there!! so I talk to a worker they look it up and bring me back to the Isle I looked in and then I get a nope none here! Why is it on the website if you don't have it?!! This has happened well over a dozen times to me and if I do find the item maybe it's a spray paint can, oh look at that it has no nozzle yup that's happened or a pack of socks that says 6 pairs and wouldn't you know it's got 5 pairs. IDK exactly what's going on but this world is absolutely lazy!!!!!! How am I supposed to use a spray paint can without a nozzle? I'm ready to take it back and say fix it NOW!! to the customer service ppl, that's what they used to do back in the day when you bought something that was broken, they would fix it. So fix it Walmart!!!!!!! F_c+k!ng FIX IT!!!!!!!!!
9 times out 10, they have what I need and, in most cases, a variety of it. I'm a joker and laughter, we may be strangers, bever mattered. but a bad experience never, except when ya hit it at a rush time, patience is hard to find, but a sense of humor lightens the load.
It's very clean and everything, but you don't want to work overnight. S because they have vandalism going on on every weekend. And there's only one manager on duty, and we are unsafe there.
I have been shopping at this location for a very long time. After you get self check outs installed, I am watched like I was a thief, I am not or will I ever be. Some of your employees at check out make you feel lower than low. If you feel you need to watch people at self check out so they don't steal, then put more cashiers back on. I should send a bill to Walmart for me doing your job. I am not a trained cashier. I'm a customer, not a thief. A very disappointed customer 😒 😔 😕 😑 😞
Shame on you, Hastings Walmart!
It's VERY apparent how much YOU TRULY HATE YOUR CUSTOMERS!
Not only have you removed cashiers from the checkout lanes; you have now removed the actual conveyor belts from the checkout lanes!
Where do you expect people to put the very groceries and items they wish to purchase, if there's no where to put anything?! How is anyone with a full cart, or even half a cart supposed to navigate your poor design?! It's obvious that Hastings Walmart actively hates their customers, and are singling out people with children, the elderly, or anyone wishing to buy more than 4 items that will fit on the new black square.
Walmart already forced their customers to become cashiers!!!
Now Walmart has literally taken away cashiers, and ANY proper surface to set groceries and store items on, in order to checkout and pay for items!!!
Disgusting store! It's absolutely filthy too, looking like it's never had it's floors cleaned in 20 years! Even more disgusting business practices and management than the trashes floors! Shame, shame, SHAME!
