I did a Macaron class with Valeria and I now feel confident enough to make them at home! She is very welcoming and a great teacher. We had so much fun and learned a lot. She demonstrated first while we asked questions and took notes. Then we each got to try the recipe on our own and she was there to assist and check our work. Definitely recommend a workshop! There are always desserts that you make yourself and then there are those that you are too afraid to try to make because they are ‘too hard.’ One of those for me has always been the perfectly petite pleasure known as a French macaron. My daughter loves them, too and we had been looking for something to do that would be an experience rather than a ‘thing.’ So when a post on my local Facebook group mentioned the wonderful pastries at Valosh, I peeked and saw the macaron class. Since this class was available on a school holiday, we thought it would be perfect. And it was. Val’s small class size, enthusiasm, and knowledge made learning a ‘scary’ skill fun. The end result was something that I know we will bake time and time again. We loved that she gave us ideas on how to adjust the flavor and that while we each made the ‘same’ recipe, we were able to change the flavor/decorations to suit our tastes. We will take more classes!
