All the reviews about host being rude & bad service? They’re all true. I was taking my spouse out on his birthday to this restaurant. We were reviewing the menu at our room. Smiling, happy, having a fabulous day in this oasis that is Fire Island. We left for dinner and showed up to this restaurant right at opening. Aside from a couple people sitting at the bar, the restaurant was empty. Not ONE single table booked. Despite this fact, the host told us he would not give us a window seat / table. Every single table in the house was open & empty. Every. Single. One. However he refused us any window seat / table of the bay. Let me repeat, at the restaurant called Cherrys on the Bay, we were refused a table showing the Bay, despite, every, single, table, in, the, entire, restaurant, being, available. Safe to say we’ll just avoid this place going forward. We did end up having some awesome pizza right next door though! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Wow, wow, wow! The entire experience was spectacular! We got to see a gorgeous sunset over the bay right from our table. Our drinks (Blue Cheese Martini and Spicy Mezcal Margarita) were fantastic..not too salty, not too sweet, just right! The service was impeccable. Our server, Regis, and the host, Ron, were super amicable, pleasant and accommodating. For apps, we ordered the Ceviche special, the margarita flatbread, and the Mussels Marine…all I can say is WOW!! Sooo good!! So good that we wanted to take the mussels broth and the ceviche marinade home with us. For entrees, we had the braised short ribs (delicious in a Cabernet reduction), the branzino (so fresh with a light, crispy top) and another round of the ceviche special. The key lime pie with the graham crumble was to die for (we were tempted to order a slice to take home!). Honestly, one of the top 10 best meals I’ve had in my life, and it takes a lot for me to say that! Food was fresh, delicious, and an appropriate serving size. I could’ve eaten another whole bowl of the spinach risotto and will be dreaming about it! Service was fantastic- I have several food allergies and our waiter was more than happy to make the kitchen aware. As Fire Islanders for 30+ years, this is the best meal you will get on Fire Island!
