The teahouse is a lovely perfect place for a brunch. It’s pretty crowded during lunchtime so you want to make early reservation. Otherwise you may have to wait outside for a table. The food quality is good. The panza (pancake and pizza) is a small let down for me, probably because of the veggies topping. I recommend to stick with either one but not to combine. Food was delicious and we also got the scones which were out of this world. We had small problems with the staff, as they seemed very disinterested in doing their job, with a younger waiter walking straight past us without taking our order, even though we've been waiting for like 10-15 minutes at that point. It is also expensive. 17€ for a pannekoeken is a bit steep, but I guess you are paying for the nice location. Lovely place. The food was great. Recommend mixing sweet and sour toppings. Our waitress needed us to repeat our drink orders multiple times and could not get them right. Overall she seemed out of it and made us feel awkward. It was fun getting to know that tea with milk is a foreign concept for the girl / the place (the country?) Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

We visited Theehuis Rhijnauwen while on a fall holiday and it was absolutely magical. It was our first experience with Dutch pancakes and we were not disappointed! They offer gluten free pancakes which are delicious. Our server, Pjot, spoke perfect English and helped us navigate the extensive menu. He was enthusiastic and patient (we speak no Dutch!) and delighted our two school-aged children by showing them where to stand to watch their pancakes while they cooked. The restaurant is spacious, with both indoor and outdoor seating, but still feels very cozy inside. It’s located in a beautiful and quiet forested area with walking/cycling trails and a lovely playground for children near the outdoor tables (though we ate inside because it was raining during our visit). Very family-friendly and would recommend to anyone looking for a fun and authentic pancake experience in a welcoming and beautiful environment! This place was such a surprise. The athmosphere is amazing, so chill, and the bike ride to get here is just perfect. I can't say that the pancake was the best I ever had, but it was fine. We spent a nice evening there. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My recent visit to this establishment left me feeling extremely disappointed. Despite booking a table days in advance, our experience was far from satisfactory. Upon arrival at 6:25 pm, we were left unattended for a solid 20 minutes, even though the restaurant was completely empty. After attempting to grab our server's attention multiple times, we were met with a disinterested and unhelpful attitude. We were then informed that our food would not be ready for another 40 minutes, which was already a big let down. To make matters worse, when we requested for onions to be added to our vegan pancake, we were told that it was not possible as they do not add anything to their vegan pancakes. It was shocking to hear that people with food allergies were expected to settle for bland pancakes. This was further highlighted by the zoomed-in photo provided. Despite giving our orders, we were kept waiting for another 40 minutes, which was already past our original estimated time of arrival. To our dismay, even at 7:15 pm, our orders were still not being worked on. It was only after multiple attempts to find our original server, who was nowhere to be found, did we manage to get in touch with someone willing to help. We were informed that our food would still take another 20-30 minutes to be ready. This was extremely frustrating and a major let down even before the food had arrived. By the time we finally received our food at 7:45-8 pm, we were already disappointed with the service. To make matters worse, the drinks we had ordered took an additional 15 minutes to arrive. While some of my colleagues enjoyed their pancakes, others had a bloated stomach and felt uneasy after consuming the vegan pancakes, perhaps due to the excessive use of baking soda which made them dry and lacking any filling. As I have mentioned in my previous review, the staff at this establishment is in desperate need of proper training. The lack of a manager on the premises was also concerning. If I do not receive a response to this review or my concerns are not addressed, I will not hesitate to contact the owners directly on LinkedIn. This experience has left me with a bitter taste and I hope that necessary steps are taken to improve the service and food quality at this establishment. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

Un sitio espectacular, con muy buen ambiente y preciosas vistas. La ruta para llegar en bici desde Utrecht es muy bonita y muy recomendable (unos 30 minutos desde el centro). Perfect weekend brunch place. Especially in the summer, this is beautiful here. Also possible with bigger groups but expect some wait time when the food is served since the kitchen can’t handle all bigger orders at once (more than 20 people). Wheelchair access and payments by cash and card are possible. Also, very kid friendly place. Great variety of tasty pancakes, but a bit pricey. Underwhelming coffee and tea. Charming venue by the water with donkeys nearby, but slow service even during quiet times.
