First off, let me start by saying I did not get a chance to eat here, so my review is not based on the quality of the food. Based on the good reviews for pizza and the fact that their website and google show they are open until 7pm, we showed up on a Sunday at 5:45 for a bite to eat. As we walked in, we were hollered to by the bartender, “We”re out of pizza dough and the kitchen shuts down at 6, so you can quickly look to see if there’s anything you want.” We most certainly didn’t feel welcome, so we left. It’s disappointing when I’ve got two hungry kids with me and that’s how we’re greeted into an eating establishment. If your kitchen closes at 6, then your restaurant closes at 6 and that’s what should be posted online.
Theyre the only bar in a 1-road town, thats why they stay open. Bought the nachos - if you can call them that. Its like 10 tostitos garnished with jar salsa lettuce and drizzled in some sort of weird condiment with no cheese. Bartender and cooks hang out and look at their cell phones in plain view in the corner of the kitchen when the place is empty. And you wonder why youre getting no tips on a slow night in a small town. Thats ridiculous to let people stand at the bar to order and wait minutes for a response. You dont care about your job and that hurts this business and customers wont come back for this level of bad service. Need to learn how the food and service industry works. Maybe you can watch Bar Rescue on your phones while at work and learn something. Price per person $10–20 Food: 2 Service: 1

Definitely a nice little pub. Food service was a little slow. It was a busy night though so these things happen. Food was pretty good. Definitely stop in if you're in the area. Price per person $30–50 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Kingsville Brisket
What a great quaint pub on Main St. in Richmond. Friends rave about the pizza here, so l ordered a large double pepperoni for take out. A 16" double topping pizza was $23. It was New York style and perfectly baked. Crispy crust, well proportioned (sauce, cheese, and pepperoni) and delicious. Don't sleep on this place! Highly recommend!! Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Pepperoni Pizza

Hits all the perfect targets for an old classic pub. Great patrons, great staff. A definite “must stop” on your way through Maine. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
July 30, 2022 - By Serendipity (discovering something by surprise) my wife and I stopped in Richmond , Maine . . . At The Old Goat Pub several years ago to find “ a gem”! As a former brewer of beers, I appreciate their selection of beers & hard ciders! We also enjoy the casual atmosphere, and chance to sample their lunch items! The Old Goat’s menu is simple but tasty: 3 Salad choices ( Caesar, Greek, SXSW) 7 Paninis ( Bobcat, Reuben, Big Back Yard, Ozvaldo, Centurion, Ham & Twist, Corsican) 3 French Roll Subs 2 Quesadillas Several Pizza Choices Several Appetizers ( try Old Goat Nachos) I hear there are new owners who purchased from the original owner, Scott McIntire (who started The Old Goat) in 2004 . There’s a beer garden off to the side of the building. The Old Goat pub has a similar vibe to TV’s Cheers Pub! Our bartender, Aimee, seemed to call some folks by name as they walked into the bar. I like that “ small town” camaraderie! I rate this a 4.6 experience, hoping for a chef that adds a few soups, salads, entrees that set this above the typical pub/restaurant that attracts more folks to Richmond! ( similar to Hollowell) Examples: *Fresh fruit w/salads in season *Specialty soups carrot & ginger, and shrimp soup almond & peanut soup *Fresh bread & cheese & meats *Pizza is GOOD 👍🏼 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *Fun History Facts* +Abenaki Indians lived in this area +1649 Christopher Lawson purchased land +Fort Richmond built by Mass Colony 1719 +Area called White’s Landing +Under Bowdoinham jurisdiction +Richmond incorporated 1823 +Farmland mostly in early years ( potatoes) +Ship building in 1830’s to 1850’s +Greek revival architecture in homes +Late 1800’s ice harvesting, shoe factory +Peacock Beach State Park with 1807 Oldest building . . . Lots of fun. Great service, yummy hot food and the building itself has so much character
The food was very tasty. Great choice of pizza and panini's. Beers, ciders and wine available. The server was already maintaining the bar as well or possibly the whole joint. As long as your not in a hurry and enjoying a laid back evening...it is a great little place to go. I heard it has changed hands in ownership recently. A nice change in atmosphere with a bar and bench seats plus table seating. Outside seating available as the restaurant sees duable for staff and weather. Give it a try... great food and a pleasant experience!
Service can be a little slow, but only a little. Part of the very cool, laid back, and chill atmosphere. Absolutely friendly! The food is amazing, sandwiches are great. If you go here, you have to have the pizza! Best in the state as far as I'm concerned! Huge selection of beer and a really cool Vibe. Corn hole in the back! Go! You have to! Do it!
