My recent visit to The Mexican Restaurant in Hayward was an absolute delight! After not being there for a couple of years, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had undergone a stunning remodel. The new colonial Spanish vibes create a spectacular aesthetic that instantly caught my eye.
For date night, my husband and I decided to sit at the bar, where we were promptly served our drinks. We started off with the Cristalino Tequila flight that was simply exquisite. Since it was a Friday during Lent, we opted for the shrimp quesadilla, which was incredibly tasty and filling.
The atmosphere on a Friday night was lively and bustling, with plenty of people enjoying their meals and drinks. I particularly enjoyed the playlist of Mexican music, which added to the overall experience.
Overall, The Mexican Restaurant exceeded my expectations with its beautiful ambiance, delicious food, and vibrant atmosphere. I can't wait to go back for another visit

I've always liked their food. Pretty good service. Their prices got too high. Same quality food for much less close by.

They have good food. I had a Verde burrito with red sauce on top. Very good. Service is always good. The big thing that erks me real bad is..they automatically add on a 18% tip. As long as the food is good and the service is good. I tend to tip 20% or better. I've worked in the industry years ago and understand. This had happen to me before there and I had forgotten about it. I won't next time. We may go somewhere else. Oh and it was just me and my wife, not the whole family.

The food wasn't good and very pricey. Long wait to be acknowledged by the weiter and even longer wait to be serve . In addition, this is the only mexican restaurant that do not offer chips and salsa for free. One must purchase a $10.00 small bowl of stale chips and insipid salsa. The main dish was terrible , the meat was overcooked , and the chorizo was hard and old as the tortillas were. The coconut Flan was stale, and the texture was like wet bread. The service was average , and the manager had an arrogant attitude when asked for extra napkins .
I do not recommend this restaurant $$$$$

My favorite Mexican restaurant in the area, never disappointed. They are authentic and have quality ingredients. Drinks are great, food is great, service is great. Thankful that the owner chose Hayward as their city to plant roots in, their establishments have made Hayward feel more like home. Highly recommend.
