Every time we are in town we eat here but today was extremely different. A host/part owner Michelle was extremely rude. When we first walked in(my husband, two toddler boys, and me) her attitude made us feel like we were not welcomed and when she kept asking how many it was like she was skipping over my kids. Then puts us in a corner I guess to keep my babies out of the way. My mom came in saw the table and requested the table we always sit at but she said it was reserved (which was a lie). We then waited for someone to take our drinks and bring the high chair for at least 12 minutes. My mom then tried to complain to a manager and that’s when we found out Michelle was manager/part owner. At the end of the confrontation my mom asked for the high chair after which she told us we are not welcomed there because we were the rude ones LOL thankfully Nick came and saved the day. He served us promptly and made the experience a little better. But we will not be back. And if you keep reading the reviews it seems like a lot of people have a problem with this hostess. She also told us to please write a review so here it’s is Michelle hopefully you will start treating people better. Especially if you are part owner. I come from a family entrepreneurs and this was poor example on how to run a business. And to your reply this is not slander pull your cameras everything I said was truthfully. I even have witnesses. $7.25 for one blueberry muffin I expected it to be amazing. I was so disappointed when there were only two tiny blueberries in the whole muffin. Would not recommend. Service Take out Price per person $1–10 Food: 1

It’s the 1st time my family and I ate here. The food came out quick and delicious! There were 5 of us and we all had something different. Even better than the food was our service from Nick! He gave us great recommendations and went over the menu with us. A+++ We will definitely be back! This place is the highlight of Hilton Head. Don’t miss out on the wonderful, pastries, crêpes sandwiches they offer. The atmosphere is friendly, and the staff is wonderful. They go out of their way to make you feel at home. They also know if they’ve seen you before, and acknowledge that they like that you came back to see them. The server Nick from Guadalajara Is the best!! You can see that he loves his job and is a people Pleaser if you have the opportunity to go there, ask for Nick, you won’t be disappointed on how he takes care of you Go there and enjoy this wonderful place. So often we eat at restaurants where we, the chef, and owner remain anonymous. The French Bakery & European Cafe is not one of those places. This is a family business where the owners are family and constantly ensure pride in perfect food and service. We met the owner in 2014 when he and family took the huge risk to open this delightful restaurant. I have had the honor of seeing the kitchen and had the learning experience of the time, first class products, and quality processes that make a perfect light and fluffy quiche, slow rise breads,and crepes. I was an enthralled student who learned the secrets of success. After living in Europe for 11 years I feel really good in recommending The French Bakery & European Cafe. This family owned and run restaurant ensures food as art by making outstanding cuisine. In turn, we are loyal customers every year as we visit Hilton Head.
