Don't let the fact they are next to a gas station fool you. The service was friendly. They have some of the best fried chicken I've eaten in a long time. The cheese stake was pretty good, too. The Mac and Cheese was nothing special, same with the French fries. Definitely worth giving them a try. We had breakfast here and it was outstanding so much so we went back for lunch 2 days later and it was great too. Their ordering system is different and we had a little bit of a wait (20 min) for breakfast on a morning where almost every table was taken. What was lost on the wait time was more than made up for on our great meals. All were generous quantities and served hot. We had 3 children (6-12) and 4 adults for breakfast. We are in the Outerbanks for the week and we hired the Chicken Coop to cater our breakfast. Wow, this breakfast was something special. Rick brought so much food we will have leftovers for the rest of the week. Everything was fresh and delicious and easily fed 19 people. We recently visited OBX and stayed in Corolla. The Chicken Coop is hands down one of the best restaurants and comfort food in the area. The owners are some of the nicest people we have ever met. Highly recommend this place.

Delicious breakfast and the biscuits and sausage gravy was perfect! We'll be back For breakfast and definitely want to try the fried chicken and sides for dinner! Rick the owner is very nice. Updated- We went back and had the fried chicken and the fantastic chicken wings and sides, highly recommend!

I went here for dinner on vacation looking for someplace new. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich and Mac and cheese. The chicken was huge and the Mac and cheese was savory and thick. The owner Rick was super nice and made us feel at home. The sweet tea was excellent and the bathrooms were clean. Can’t wait to return next year for breakfast and diner. Amazing Fresh food, and even tho they were closing in an hour they made my dad fresh chicken breast instead of what was left in case. Generous portions at very reasonable prices We wouldn’t have even known it was there because the gas station is so predominant. I enjoyed some of the best eggplant Parmesan & pasta cooked to perfection If I could make any comment I would say the girl at the front is so nice but totally overwhelmed as it is super busy here and that’s a good thing. We were here off season and all the tables were filled and being bussed as more people kept coming in. So glad it thrives as we will be back and can’t wait to eat here this summer again Fair priced Great options and my so with severe food allergies ate here as well with it issue !!!
