Updated review on 3/3/2024 - adding new pix. Flavors lean towards Italian style of espresso with deep, toasted arabica notes. Since my prior review I have visited a few times and the quality while good has not been consistent. I hope the very kind owner who I met on a prior visit is there next time. Pro tip: buy an extra cortado and pour over vanilla ice cream when you get home. Original review of 7/29/2023 below: Delightful establishment for enjoying quality coffee drinks and light food in clean upscale setting. Not sure what took me so long to visit Tellus and glad my wife drove us there. The interior is clean, nicely decorated and above all welcoming. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast light plates are tasty, healthy and quickly served. Many tables available in the main space with views inside and to the street. There is a quiet back room with soft lighting for more intimate conversation, which made our experience feel like a date. The room can also provide a nice break from busy day shopping, especially if hot. The lattes and cappuccino exhibited strong coffee notes with good crema. I have visited several times and the quality is good. Street parking is a challenge on most days. Do not let that discourage you from visiting - just plan to spend extra time enjoying the special atmosphere which warrants a 5 star rating. Meal type Breakfast Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
Beautifully designed interior with real plant wall and skylight. Was disappointed they told me no more acai bowls at all (although menu was still posted) and $1 surcharges for alternative milks even at cortado size. Price was exorbitant. Chicken empanada was okay, but half empty. Meal type Breakfast Price per person $20–30 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Love this place, and the people who work there 😊❤️ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My husband and I went for a coffee and pastries this morning. I ordered soy latte. He ordered drip dark roast. My coffee was fine, his was good. But the pastries were terrible. We ordered lemon muffin and almond croissant. We both developed terrible stomachaches and bloated within 30 mins of eating. Seating area is not conducive to customers coming in for a morning coffee. Several tables are occupied by single customers working on their computers sitting there for hours. We were with our pastries standing there and looking for a place to sit and had to ask others to move over to sit down. They were not happy and we got unhappy. Not good way to start the day. We spent around $30.00 for two coffees and lousy pastries, got upset and made others upset. We will not go there anymore. Tellus Management, please designate area in the back of your shop for your computer working customers who wish to sit there for hours. Provide them with one long table in the room at the back of the shop. Restrict their seating to that area. Please remember this is not an office but a restaurant. People sit for 30-45 minutes max, enjoy their time and leave. Front area should not be for computer people. Provide more chairs and get rid of the low table. Having had coffee in many cafes around the world, this was below average and too expensive. No where and believe me I’ve spent a lot of coffee, will charge you almost $7 for a flatwhite which is made wrong. Also to make a pour over you have to wet the filter before putting precious good coffee in it so it doesn’t taste like paper. The behind the counter area could have been a lot more organized and clean. In general you can get past the environment if the coffee is at least good. There are many examples in the Bay Area of great cafes and coffees to learn from. Service Take out Price per person $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
