Absolutely recommend. Friendly staff, they helped me recharging the battery of my electric bike. The food was fantastic, I ordered their house made lemonade and burger special (they have a yummy vegetation alternative), at the end I ordered coffee with cheesecake with fresh fruits… it is a place to be when visiting Merken. We arrived here by ferry after about 35kms of cycling. Thirsty, hungry and in need of a sit. We ordered the fish and chips and some fresh hole made iced teas. God damn did this hit the spot. Gave us the energy to cycle back to Amsterdam on our busted up rental bikes. This review started as a 4 but I've bumped it to a 5 after remembering how good the chips were. Good food and a friendly staff. The terrace has a beautiful view over the harbour. This place can get crowded with tourist groups during the day but this does not happen in the evening. Try to order the home made ice tea or lemonade! The fish plateau is the best food here. The food was pathetic and awful experience. After waiting for eternity the food arrived. Being a vegetarian already makes it tough to find a good food. And this so called restaurant makes things even more worst. The option for vegetarian here sucks. They say Dutch people are very straightforward in feedback. Below is my words in Dutch way. We only got coffee and cakes. The food was really good, I recommend the apple pie. we got a glimpse of other dishes which looked great as well. The view is exquisite on a nice day. We came here as part of a tour package. I had the tomato soup and the Fish and chips. The soup was ok, it had decent flavor. But like other soups I have had so far in Amsterdam, it tastes like bullion. The fish was great. Just enough batter and very flaky and moist, but because they were doing this for a big group, I’m not sure how long the food had been waiting in the fish on the bottom had gotten soggy.
