I ordered on door dash ( the site was glitching ) any who I ordered through the door dash app , but needed some adjustments to my order , so I called . The person who answered was nice and accommodating. A hour went by and still no food ( no dasher in my area ) , so I called again 2 mins till close and asked could I just pick my order up as I had my taste buds set on pork chops. The lady said were closed but sure you can pick up your order ( just super nice ) she didn’t say you need to hurry up or anything . Fast forward I get my food , generous portions. My extra ness that I had called in for was exactly how I asked and seasoned for the gods. My first experience with this place that I found on door dash was worth it. From the customer service to the taste of the food. Oh yeah Although door dash jacked my delivery time up ( over an hour ). My food was still hot. Now that was very interesting to me I just knew in all that time my food was going to be cold ( as I had ordered through door dash over an hour ago ). I will be returning but as a pick up. Door dash needs a break from my coins I got the smothered pork chops slightly smothered, baked Mac & cheese with gravy ( my weirdness) and mash potatoes with gravy. The corn muffins omg I needed another one. Mommas soul food is now local yassssss

Fried Pork Chops
I called in and ordered the chicken wing dinner, but I saw the owner preparing 2 fried pork chop dinners and I had to try for myself. Great decision! The pork chops were a good size and fried to perfection. The green beans and mac n cheese were delicious! Well worth the price!

Fried Pork Chops
So my husband and I was looking for a soul food restaurant without traveling to the city. I called this restaurant to find out what was on the menu for this Sunday evening. The lady who answered was so pleasant and took her time sharing the many available options. She answered my question sweetly because I'm so picky & particular. So we ordered the smothered pork chops. The pork chop gravy was so good, the chops were tender and not over cooked. We also ordered the pinto beans with rice. Can I tell you, I was so surprised the beans were in a good pot liquor/gravy/rue or whatever you want to call it. Most restaurants beans are in a juice and that's for soup to me. I also ordered Mac & cheese and it was baked, yay! The green beans and potatoes was very tasty even w/o meat. I believe sometimes it is cooked with meat, according to the pictures. Each dinner included a good fresh corn bread muffin. The dinners were so plentiful we made a plate out of it for our teenage son. I also have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. We ordered takeout. My husband said the restaurant was clean and very nice inside. We will order from here going forward on our lazy Sundays. She told us the order would would take about 35-40 mins because she wanted everything to be fresh and it was fresh and hot like she just cooked it. She also called to let us know the order was ready. We were already in route. Perfect timing! I will say we didn't go during the hrs the church folks get there it was around 5pm when we picked up our order. I say try it for yourself, you will not be disappointed. Oh, I don't give good reviews to everyone because I'm a darn good cook myself.
