2/16/24. Wonderful steakhouse in Palo Alto that’s worth the visit if you don’t mind spending a few dollars. Drinks, entrees and desserts are top notch. Wait staff is very accommodating and suggests special(s) of the day. Parking is limited so plan accordingly. Large wine list. Corkage fee is $35 per bottle —- yes, we brought our own. Very good staekhouse that is reasonably priced. We like all the dishes. The entrees were great, calamary was fresh, shrimp were colossal, and the scallops were so delicious and filling! The only dish we didn't like is the "loaded" potatoe as a side, too much butter/cream IMO. I made a reservation online and I didn't know the restaurant had booths. So we (my husband and little daughter) requested to be seated in one. We had to talk to the manager about it because the ladies at front were arrogant and not helpful at all. Also their outfits look like you're entering a private adult club. Not welcoming and no hospitality. Fake smiles. Food wise, the steak is good as well the sides, however they have a vegan menu, very poorly made, where they fry everything that's vegan in the same oil that fry fish. How is that vegan? Truffle fries on the vegan menu came with Parmesan cheese on top ! Also on the vegan menu the potato comes with butter. In our experience this left a very bitter taste. It was my husband's birthday and this was below our expectations. This restaurant might work better for work meetings but not for families. The atmosphere and service is fantastic. The salads were ok, the entree was delicious but unfortunately one desert was burnt, the waiter noticed and made a comment about the burnt food and still served it. It was so bitter and charcoal burnt it was inedible. Also there was no parking so we had to wait 18min until someone left on the street parking , as the parking lot stayed full. We came here for our end of year Office Dinner. We were delayed with our reservation (which I feel is to be expected during the festive season), and Sundance MORE than made up for the delay with exceptional service and attention to detail. They went above and beyond, and we are more than happy with the evening! Great food, great cocktails, great atmosphere, and great place. Definitely a must visit!!
