THE Barista tonight was very rude. Darry Target worker with a Starbucks apron. I’m pretty sure it was because I showed up about an half hour before closing time. I asked for a decaf. She said they didn’t have decaf in coffee or any sort of pour over. I thought a little more and decided to get a pour over americano. She then ask me if I wanted it decaf…. Um…… okay sure, but you just told me you don’t have decaf at all. Ummmmmm..(all in my head of course). I didn’t argue but she had that look on her face with disgust like I should have known. She then said rudely and with this squinting eye attitude, “ the Americano is an espresso not a coffee, but we have it in decaf and can make a pour over. 😑
I want to ask, she is taking the decaf americano beans, putting them in a grinder, grinding them, placing the grounds into a filter like a coffee machine, pouring hot water over the grounds, the fresh brewed pour over goes into a cup, therefore making a cup of coffee. Isn’t that the same as a machine. A certified machine will heat the coffee to about 204 degrees and then pour the hot coffee over your grounds, coffee then goes into a pot, cup etc. K-cups work the same. Just not maybe as hot..
I can argue this all day. An espresso is a very condensed, concentrated small tea cup of coffee!!
Look I don’t have a problem with the names. But don’t look at me with squinting eyes and make me feel like I’m the idiot for not knowing the difference. Explain to me without sarcasm! Generation Z at its best.
Also do not rush patrons. There was absolutely no one behind me, let me decide what I want without asking me if I knew what I wanted 3 times. Again making me feel like I should have known before I came up to the register! Geeze man….
