I feel compelled to share my recent disheartening experience at Starbucks, a place I've been a loyal customer of for quite some time. Unfortunately, my recent visit to Orland Park location was far from satisfactory. Upon redeeming my birthday treat, I encountered unwarranted hostility from the Starbucks staff. The process of using my birthday reward was unnecessarily challenging, leaving me feeling unwelcome. To add to the frustration, my drink order, a venti with light ice, was mishandled. Initially given a grande, the situation was addressed only to receive a venti that was disproportionately filled with ice. What truly compounded the disappointment was the attitude of the barista who handed me the revised drink. Not only did she fail to offer a sincere apology, but her eye-rolling behavior added a layer of disrespect that was entirely uncalled for. Experiencing such hostile treatment on my birthday was not only disappointing but genuinely hurtful. I expected a higher standard of service from Starbucks, especially on a day meant for celebration. This experience has left me questioning the level of customer care provided at this location, and I sincerely hope that my feedback prompts a reconsideration of the service standards. They had a promotion for a drink ordered before 6pm, I ordered through the drive through. When I get to pay they were charging me double. I asked what about the promotion I ordered before 6pm, the barista tells me it ended. Well I said I ordered before 6pm and she says you have to pay to get the promotion before 6pm, well how do you pay at a drive through before you get to the window. Common sense does not apply in this situation.

I've been to this Starbucks location numerous times. The baristas here are fairly quick and most are friendly compared to other Starbucks in the area. I usually just get a hot black coffee and maybe some kind of pastry. My most recent visit I got a cappuccino with skim milk and a chocolate croissant warmed. The cappuccino hit the spot. It was delicious and foamy, and the croissant satisfied my craving for chocolate. This was an excellent pairing on a cold day! However, I think they need to do some updating of the tables and chairs and seating areas.
