The food is good, but the preparation is not necessarily the best. Side dishes are limited and brussel sprouts are the only green vegetable. If you like mush, this is the veggie for you. Chicken and dumplings are good and breakfast orders are always a safe bet. I ordered Mac & cheese once as a take-out side; it was sour. The smell alone was revolting. How could you dish this into a cup and not notice the smell. I think some quality control is in order. A Little variation in the side menu would be nice. I've gotta give kudos to a food establishmeny open on a Monday, when so many take this day off. We arrived a bit late for breakfast, but were seated promptly. The lunch criwd filled in behind us as, ironically, few other places in that patch of paradise were open. Nothing to complain about. Generous enough portions. We sat at the bar on purpose, and may have been slightly delayed as the Bar Tender Gal had do do some double duty as well as serving drinks to the whole house. We usually like to see the goings on, and expect this kind of routine behavior. Got our orders in, took a reasonable amount of time, and was fairly impressive upon arrival. Service was excellent but I can’t blame the waitstaff for the quality of the food. The food came out quickly but was not appetizing. When I bit into the chicken the entire bone cracked and it appeared dark in color which usually indicates it was frozen for too long. A bar rescue would do this place wonders. I didn’t even want dessert because my family and I were so disappointed with the food. And for the bill to be $$$ the food was absolutely unacceptable. My 8 year old said the pancakes were good, but her chicken tenders were cold and not good. My 9 year old said the burger was sweet and tasted like it was microwaved. My 14 year said his steak was mostly gristle. My BF said his bread wasn’t fresh and toasted too much on his chicken cheesesteak. He said the cheese was ‘govt’ cheese. My sweet potato fries were the only thing I could tolerate. The restrooms weren’t clean and the trash was overflowing. And the mirrors were dirty. I’d visit again if they stepped their game up. I went here for a business breakfast, the food was okay. Nothing to brag about. I didn’t enjoy the texture of my omelet it was mushy. My home fries were thick, flavorless and in desperate need of seasoning. The coffee was fresh & hot. The service was great, we were greeted and served right away.
