This was my first time here, but it will definitely not be my last. Service was exemplary! Friendly, polite, and was greeted with a smile when I walked in the door. I had the prime rib dip sandwich (au jus, I believe), and it was absolutely delicious. Thank you to Shores Restaurant!! We had FABULOUS service & our food was delicious! The other patrons were clearly pleased with the server as well, because everyone was enjoying themselves. Looked like a nice place to go with my husband for date night. However the service was horrible. Once bartender/server finally got to us after sitting there for a good 25-30 minutes she was really hands on with the need to touch my husband and be flirtatious constantly interupting our conversation to ask if HE needed anything else as she kept her back to me. Kind of ruined our date night and caused my husband to feel horrible I had to experience such thing on our special night. We have actually experienced this twice on different occasions with the same Bartender/ server. It baffles me she even still holds a job there as long as she has with her lack of ability to work her job. If you want food poisoning I highly recommend. The ketchup in the bottle at my table was rancid, after I was halfway thru my meal, the person I was eatting with, whom also said we should eat there, said the first time they ate their they got food poisoning, and then after hearing about my lunch experience my brother stated that he has also had rancid ketchup at this establishment. I can't rate the food because we came in sat down and we were there about 15 minutes. The server helped two families that arrived AFTER us without saying ONE single word to us. The entire place smelled like old grease that permeates everything around it and they hadn't cleaned it off in years. We left before anyone spoke to us because we were so disappointed. Went to the Blue Heron at Semiahmoo and had 4 different employees come to the table to greet is, bring drinks, a fresh muffin, in the same amount of time we sat at The Shores being ignored. Had chicken wings and fries. Good flavored. Tried breakfast as well and it tasty If you like to drink then try it with finger food. We came for breakfast on a Sunday. The sign on the door asked people to be patient because they were short staffed, but we had a great experience thanks to Sarina, our server. She was quick to take our order and she kept the coffee going. The omelets came out fast, and the portions were huge. Great hash browns too. This is your typical old diner/sports bar. Great service, good Bloody Mary but the corned beef hash was beyond comparison. I'm never had it with SO much meat. Was a WOW dish. My wife's breakfast dish was a bit underwhelming. Food,Was good ... the food was delicious, and very good coffee .. But the waiter was not happy and not friendly, I understand everything happens in life, maybe she had a bad morning .. all we asked her was to add bacon to vege Benedict. but she made a face as if she would have to get bacon in the middle of the bay with her bare hands ..
