Had everything I needed. Not sure if it was a bit pricey or if that’s just the state of inflation today.
This is one of the best supermarkets in the area. Conveniently located near other shopping. I can rely on fresh vegetables, fish, meat and poultry. They also have some great specials for food that is coming near 'sell by' dates (not a problem if I am planning on eating sometime in the next few days). While I don't shop here for customer service, there are a few employees who are very friendly and helpful. Prices are average, not sure what people expect from a grocery store, but quality is comparable to prices in most cases.

Two elderly ladies, one cashier, one customer, the customer has a lot of groceries to bag, so they both bag,... 3 senior employees, standing around, like roadside crew, chatting it up, not offering to chip in the bagging, one of them, stared me down, could have been bagging. A whole minute,... STARED ME DOWN INSTEAD IF HELPING THE OLD CASHIER. Your "senior management woman", black round glasses.

Edit, another two years later. Just went in for a bulky waste tag. Couldn’t be bothered to sell it since their customer service center was close. They Remain the worst grocery stores in the state. Edit, 3 years later: the employees here are horrible. Horrible attitude, perhaps from years of understaffing by management. Removing a star. I'll go out of my way to go to Hannaford in West Falmouth or Market Basket. Shaws isn't even viable competition. Also their "grand reopening" they had in November of 2020 seems to just be new floor tiles as the old ones were gross.... wow congrats. That surely will save your business from the much better organized stores with friendlier employees like Market Basket and Whole Foods. Dan Soley's review is spot on. Ditto to everything he said. Start from scratch on your business model shaw's, or go out of business. OLD: One person for four express checkout lanes on a busy Saturday at 6 PM is obvious under staffing. 15 minutes to checkout. Get self checkout! The staff that was there were friendly. They are not to blame.
Went to get a money order twice now & both times the manager closes the customer service too early & won’t help me get a money order even though he’s capable of doing so…

For the second Wednesday in a row there was NO manned checkouts open and only the self check outs open with one employee watching over it at 10:45 A.M- Last week I called corporate to complain and was told it would be rectified - It is NOT - Like last week I was about to leave my full cart in the isle and leave to go to a nearby Hannaford's as were about a dozen other folks After 15 minutes of contemplating and chatting with other irate folks who were considering leaving a girl did come and open a register but was obviously less than pleased - Shaw's had been a great place to shop until recently and in mu opinion is now a rock bottom - Sadly it is time to shop Hannaford's who has staffing, far superior meat and deli departments - VERY sad!
This Shaw's is a really big store and has a lot of options.
Its a grocery store in utter chaos!

I dont appreciate a "Bait and switch" sales tactic.. if your cherries are CLEARLY MARKED for $1.97 per pound, then thats what I expect to pay. I go to cash out and it rings up as $3.99 per lb.. when I get an associate over to question it, I am told that it is only with an online coupon.. perhaps your company should take better initiative at disclosing that at the cherries instead of trying to trick people who may not be paying attention when they are buying a lot of groceries all at once and believing that THEY are only paying $1.97 per lb AS IT IS LABELED... That is trickery, that is dishonesty and this store should be ashamed of not being totally honest with its prices.

At least 25% more expensive than Hannaford and a much worse selection of items, I don't see myself coming back here ever.
