My grandparents could not drive past this place without s to stopping. It was always a treat for my dad and his brothers. With a heavy heart, they are gone now. I would drive from Michigan to New York every other month to visit. My second to the last visit, my grandmother said she wanted Polk a Dots on my last visit I stopped, my wife and I ate, before we left, I got one to go. I drove straight to grandmas with that sandwich! She loved it sooo much. a few months later she passed at 98 years old. Her last take out sandwich was a Polk a dot beef on weck! I have been a long time supporter of this restaurant. Today I went there to order food for take out. I was sent outside the restaurant to make my order. The area is enclosed but even with the heater at 20° outside it is pretty damn cold for anyone to wait out there for food. The restaurant was empty. No reason I couldn't sit at the counter and wait like I have done many times before. I bought 3 sandwiches and 3 fries. All were shoved in the same small bag that ripped at soon as I put it down in my vehicle. When they handed my order thru the window I made the comment that it is pretty cold out to be making people stand out there and wait. The employee just stared blankly at me and said nothing. There was no catsup on the side as i requested and no catsup on the one sandwichas i requested. None was left anywhere so i could grab my own... guess I will not be ordering from there again. Been there many times through the years. Never been disappointed. Usually go for their Beef on Weck and fries. Have great memories from the visits through the years with loved ones. Highly recommend. I can’t rate the food because whe I see the heating vents filter clogged wit greasy dirt and the cleenlyness of food and drink laying around , makes me.think what else is not being taking care of . The food is always great tasting and reasonably priced. Might not be the best place to eat if you're trying to lose weight. Patrons and staff are very friendly, very casual environment. Service is poor, the table and chairs are very bad. there very high and uncomfortable. Also the picnic table is uncomfortable, plus bring back the old table and chairs!
