We went here a couple of years ago and really enjoyed ourselves. We were back in the area so we wanted to try here again. We were disappointed. The fries used to be so crispy, but are now bland. The Waldorf salad was good, but the medium rare burger was dry (brioche bun was great). Service was very good, and the staff were attentive. Would not go back unfortunately. 1st time trying Phoenix Upper Main, while visiting from out of state. Led downstairs to a cozy pub-like room, where we enjoyed, burgers, fish & chips and Nachos with spicy jalapenos! Music was a bit loud for my taste, but, so glad to be together with my kids & Grandkids! 🙋🍔🍺 Price per person $10–20

Wife and I tried to get a table at probably the busiest time of year, “Midnight Madness” at the beginning of the Holidays. The host called us 30 minutes after we put our name in, we were seated and served our first beers within 5 minutes and our main courses within 20 minutes, the service, beers and food was exceptional, as an Englishman I highly recommend their fish & chips, the best I have had in a long time, I’d give 6 stars if I could! Had a lovely time on Cinco de Mayo. The outside area was welcoming to everyone, including cute dogs. We were seated soon and had a lovely dinner. Lots of beer on tap and bottles. They are known for their delicious crab dip. Wife had impossible burger w old bay fries (pic) I had their chicken wings & chicken tenders (pic) & caprese salad (pic) is one of the best around. Peanut butter bomb (pic) for dessert is great. April 2023 they had soft shell crab sliders which we're excellent. Two of them for $12, the crabs are not small and hung out the side of the small buns. French onion soup was spot on. These were some of the best apps I've ordered from a restaurant/pub in a very long time. The pretzels were perfectly baked and salted and delivered still warm. The mustard was flavorful and not flat vinegar tasting, cheese was delicious as well. The crab dip was the star. Creamy, crabby, cheesy and seasoned well, also still warm. Food was excellent i had the blackened chicken sandwich and my wife had a salad and Maryland crab soup. I had their own IPA and my wife had the Captains punch. My only complaint may be there was a musty mop smell but might have been from the Beer tanks. AMAZING crab dip! At first I was wondering how kettle chips would taste with the crab dip but you will NOT regret it. They make the old bay kettle chips themselves and they are sooooo good. They also gave us more when we asked! Our entrees (french dip + reuben) were good too but honestly we could’ve just had the crab dip for dinner. God it was so good I swear. Decided to visit the quaint town of Ellicott City on our weekend getaway to Baltimore. We had beer and a quick lunch at Phoenix Upper Main and really enjoyed it. The beer was good and the Reuben sandwich was one of the best I’ve had!! We chose to sit at the bar but their outdoor area looked so inviting especially on a sunny summer day. Highly recommend a visit to Ellicott City and while you’re there, a beer (or two) and food at this restaurant!!

My wife and I were visiting the Baltimore area to visit family. We found Phoenix Upper Main and decided to try it! The food was very delicious and the service was prompt and friendly. My wife got the wedge salad (it was split with our sister-in-law) and I enjoyed the fish and chips. The fish was greasy, but good still. The Bavarian pretzels were great! The beer cheese was so good! It was lunch time when we visited, so the crowd was pretty light. I’m not sure how it gets at night time. Restrooms were also clean and convenient. I would definitely return!
