Came highly recommended but I thought it was just okay. Batter on the fish and the shrimp was a little heavy for my tastes. No tartar sauce. Only Pete's Sauce. It's not bad. Best for the fried shrimp but I prefer tartar sauce for my fried fish and ketchup for my fries. Anyway, I went back a second time, for chicken strips this time, and again, I found the batter too heavy for my liking. Exterior seating area is pretty drab. Didn't find any employees smiling or thanking me for my business either. Oh, cash only. No credit or debit cards accepted. There is an ATM on the premises. We normally go to the location in Down town Phoenix but since we were in the area and thought the food would taste the same well we were wrong. Service was terrible the cashier kept giving everyone attitude. The sauce tasted like ketchup and the shrimp was way overcooked. You don't go to Pete's for "atmosphere" you go for the delicious Arizona fish & chips and don't forget a gallon of sauce! As someone who is typically spice averse the Pete's sauce is one of my favorite! It goes on every thing and tastes amazing. I've moved about 20 miles away from this location but won't hesitate to drive the 40 mile round trip for their super seafood special. Give it a try, you won't regret it. Burger was cold, and fries were old. Hope they do better on the food next time. I drive good distance for this Pete's, but if food quality don't improve I'll take my business elsewhere. Food here is really good! Most places that deep fry food always have a taste of dirty oil. This Pete’s has a good taste. Everything was nice and golden fried. The sauce isn’t as good as the one in Glendale feel like it’s more watery here, but still good. Only bad thing is, CASH ONLY!! Such an inconvenience being that we are in 2023! They probably own the atm that’s on site and more or likely make lots of extra money off it! Great way to capitalize off the people. Dont normally like fried foods but this was pretty good. Had my doubts it being outside but its actually pretty decent! They have cash only but they have an atm on the patio so that was very helpful. They have LARGE food items just fyi. Be sure to bring an appetite!! The petes sauce has a hint of spice which is nice. Workers there are friendly and quick. I had the 7 piece crabettes and chips and couldnt finish it because it was so much. So definitely worth the price. Inexpensive burgers here too and are pretty good. Looks like they also have heaters for colder days. Enjoyed my experience at this location.
