Husband started having breathing issues while there, not unusual for him, after a trip to the restroom. The waitress noticed right away and asked if we wanted containers so we could pack up his food for take home. She was very conscious of his problem and made it very easy for us to take his food home for later. Food was very good. Ate mine while it was hot and was able to warm his up and still have it taste good at home. I feel like having a Perkins still in my town is a lost relic treat!! The food is amazing weather it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner!! We frequently eat at this Perkins and enjoy the "homey" feel and personal service. The servers are very attentive and we especially enjoy Tonya who knows our orders before we sit down and always makes sure that we have what we need. We observe many other guests request to be seated in her section. Texas also always makes sure that our orders are correct and visits our table each visit that she is "on duty". My wife and I have eaten here periodically over the last 20 years. The place has run down over the years. We stopped in a few days ago, it was cold outside. Unfortunately it was cold inside as well. The mens bathroom was nasty and the urinal was not useable. The place has an unclean feel about it. The wait staff is fine and do a good job. The food was okay, but used to be better. I think the ownership needs to revamp the inside to improve the atmosphere. Food was fine, steaks were actually cooked well. That wasn't the issue. At the end we went to pay and they gave us grief about wanting to split the payment. To quote the cashier, "Our system doesn't let us split payments." Except their payment system is Clover and Clover very specifically states that their system allows for split checks/payments. So simply lying to a customer because you don't want to do the extra work of spliting a bill is a sure way to make others debate if it's just better to cross the street to Mr. Evans.
