This was my first visit to Phoenix, not counting the hours spent in the airport, of course. Family took me to breakfast at this family-owned-type local cafe for breakfast. It's not much to look at, but it is very neat and clean. The service was excellent in every way, the food was amazing, and for a reasonable price (about $12.00), the plate was full. I ordered the Texas French toast with bacon. The menu read three slices of French toast, so I expected 3 half-slices, I guess, and maybe 2 slices of bacon. Well, I got 3 whole slices (six half slices of toast and 6 or 7 slices of bacon. Holy moly! And my friends couldn't finish their biscuits and gravy, either. The food was tasty and a lot of it! So, if you come to the Phoenix area, maybe in town for Spring Training like us, you might check out this diner/cafe. They havr a full menu AND serve breakfast all day. Who doesn't love that?! Stopped by to try the Friday Fish Fry! 1st time visiting the Cafe. Service was top notch! Seated right away. Server, Jenny was very kind and attentive the food came out quickly! The food was great! Fish, fries, Cole slaw and a roll. Fish was piping hot and delicious. Nice light batter. Not greasy! Good value. Will definitely be back to try the breakfast menu. We were trying out this place today for breakfast. It was a small place and service was awesome!!! Fast and friendly!!!! We thought with the amount of people that it would take a long time but it was maybe 10 min before we had our food!!! Food was delicious we will definitely be going back for lunch!!!! Welcome to Old Town Peoria. This spot has been here for decades and is still going strong. Located in a shopping center with quite a few businesses it's easily accessible from all directions. From the outside it doesn't look like much and it doesn't change much on the inside either. It's definitely your no frills old school breakfast spot. The menu is good size with some great options. From chicken fried steak to eggs Benedict they have it all. If you like the very basics there's the two egg and meat option. Make sure to try their biscuits and gravy because the biscuit alone will have you glad you did. It was so light and fluffy, great flavor and With three gravy on top it all just came together. I had eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast today as well and it was all pretty tasty. The bacon was crispy but not overdone while my eggs were cooked to my asking. The location is good size with booths and well as tables. If you come alone or don't want to wait they also have a bar to sit and enjoy. The location was clean. Service was ok, but took us a bit to get refills and had to ask someone for the check. All in all it was a solid stop and when in the area I'd come again. After Dr. appointments, we decided to go grab some breakfast. Instead of going to one of our favorites, we decided to check out the Peoria Cafe. We started with their homemade cinnamon roll. OMG, was it good, fresh, a little sweet due to the icing, but still delicious. Greg ordered the eggs benedict, which had tomatoes and hashbrowns. We're not sure if the hollandaise sauce is fresh or not. Greg didn't care for the flavor but really liked the addition of tomatoes. I ordered their chicken fried steak, 2 eggs, hashbrowns, and a biscuit instead of toast. I would definitely order this again. It's one of the best biscuits I've ever had. The steak had great flavor and was very tender. Their gravy was good but needed a little more flavor, and the flour cooked a little more. I would order this dish again! Best of all, we had leftovers for breakfast the next day. All I had to do was reheat and fry up some more eggs! Peoria cafe has always had a great cozy diner atmosphere. We were promptly seated at the diner booth and our order was taken as soon as we were ready. The pancakes are huge two can share for sure and the potatoes were nice and crispy. Customer service is always amazing and friendly. Had a great lunch here today! It was BUSY when we arrived but we were seated quickly and had our drink order taken right away. We ordered the Philly cheese steak and the BLT. Both of the meals were delicious! The cheese steak was not greasy or salty. The steak was tender and flavorful and had sautéed mushrooms, onions, and green peppers in it. Really tasty! The BLT was perfect. The bread was toasted and crispy, FRESH lettuce and tomato (not soggy or questionable at all), and tasted just like we made this at home. The fries are crispy and tender in the middle. The ranch has good flavor, but it’s really runny so just beware when dipping and pouring the ranch…it gets messy. The flavor is there though and we take our Ranch dressing very seriously around these parts. Today was Fish Friday and they were HAND BATTERING AND FRYING FISH as we were eating…so awesome! It smelled so good…I should have had the fish. Definitely going back to try it! I don’t know if this is true, but it seemed like everything was house made. It’s fresh and flavorful food, I would not be surprised if they made most of their stuff from scratch. They have a really big menu with a lot of offerings so I’m excited to go back and try other things. The place is clean and the kitchen is open and they’re cooking right in front of you. There’s a diner to sit at and eat or tables and booths. It’s large and has a good ambiance. Jenny, our server, was really awesome. Hopefully we see her on our next visit. This is the first time my wife and I have visited Peoria Cafe. The food was awesome and our server (Jenny) was excellent. She explained how everything here is homemade and she had no problem customizing our meals to our liking. We don't live too far from this place and we will become regulars now.
