Like everywhere else prices have gone up. However, what sets Ogie's apart from other eating establishments is that the waitresses are friendly, and professional, and the food portions are worth every penny of the price. Whether you live in Salt Lake City. West Valley or come in from somewhere else you should visit Ogie's and experience this place for yourself. I am not sure what they put in their hot chocolate but it is the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had! We had 6 cups. The food portions are pretty good and pricing was good. Food was good as well. We came in during rush hour but they took good care of us. They did forget our French does but they took it off. My husband loved his bk burrito and my entire table had no complaints for the food. Pretty good breakfast. The service is good although it's a little disorganized inside. The layout is odd, there's 2 entrances but one seems to be the "main" entrance so it's kind of confusing. Also the cashier sign above the bar isn't where the actual register is. It just feels a little clustered and chaotic inside. Good food though and the prices are fairly competitive. My husband and I visited here for the first time on a Saturday morning. We were looking for a good breakfast place near us and we definitely found it! I love the atmosphere of the restaurant and how it’s still old fashioned. They had the best hot chocolate with lots of whipped cream!! I ordered the waffles with bacon and eggs and my husband ordered the special burrito and it was all delicious! Also, portions are HUGE!! We had to wait a few minutes because it was so busy but once we got seated, the waitress was super attentive and got our food out pretty quickly. You must experience this old school diner vibe in West Valley City, Utah and you’ll soon find out why Ogies Cafe is something special. You can easily tell it’s history runs deep as it’s been open 40+ years on the same corner. Full disclosure: I’ve been coming here since I was a kid growing up on the area I wanted to share my thoughts as I’m very happy to see this place consistently thrive from the regulars frequenting the square bar, the smell of fresh breakfast being cooked to the lines out the doors on any given weekend Ogies is always worth the wait! I usually their ‘Special Burrito’ no ham, add bacon, sausage, diced mushrooms, onions and green peppers on top with extra smothering green chili. That’s “Vallejo Style” it’s a big burrito that fills a large plate. Great for enjoying half at the diner and the other half later for some flawless leftovers. Today I went with my second favorite their Veggie Skillet with bacon, sausage and side of green chili to smoother it up nicely. 👌🏼 Any breakfast item is delicious, their golden hash browns are crave worthy and if you want lunch you won’t be disappointed by their burgers and home cooked fries. Old fashion breakfast Found this on a quick search for breakfast places. The pictures looked good so we decided to make a stop. I got the Ogie’s special. It did not disappoint. Everything was very well seasoned. The staff was very attentive and the food came out quickly. The atmosphere is what you expect for a local hole on the wall. This was our second time here. The first time we did not enjoy too much, the place had a really greasy feel to the whole place and the food was okay. We thought we would give it a try again when we noticed outdoor seating, Now we could focus on the food, and not the grease, was a good experience. Attentive service, good food, ok outdoor atmosphere, best one could do overlooking 3500 south in west valley. We will be back, but for only outdoors, indoors is a grease pit, crowded, poor wait area, poor cashier method. I think if they pay at the table, would alieve the crowding indoors. For years this was my favorite breakfast place when I lived in Salt Lake City. If I go back to visit this is a must to go to Ogies for breakfast. They have the best breakfast gravy. And you have to get a side of the famous Chilli sauce it is divine. Service is always great. Everyone is very nice, friendly and helpful. This place is hopping! The food is good and also inexpensive, so expect to put your name on a list. Despite having to wait, they turn over tables pretty quickly, so we got in within 10 minutes on a Saturday morning. The woman who waited on us must've gotten held up at another table, because we didn't place our order for about 10 minutes, but once we did order, our French toast and pancake sandwich came out quickly.
