It's worth coming to this restaurant for good cobbler, creamy cakes and bread pudding. You will hardly forget delicious gin, wine or beer that you can drink. It's time to degustate great strawberry lemonade, lime juice or hot chocolate. The homely atmosphere of Ocean Bleu At Gino's allows visitors to relax after a hard working day. The high ratings of this place would be impossible without patient employees. Terrific decor is appreciated by guests. Based on the guests' feedback on Google, this spot deserved 4.5.

Update 2/21/24: Went back for the Seafood Stew, and my friend had the Salmon Burger. Both were wonderful, as expected. The Seafood Stew bowl is a generous portion with a variety of shellfish and whitefish in a tomato broth with vegetables, and toast on the side. The Salmon Burger was not overcooked (as happens at some places) with potato curls. We both had coffee along with our meal. The coffee seemed to be chocolate flavored, which was unexpected. A nice, casual seafood restaurant on the Bayfront, well worth a visit. ____________ Had lunch with friends. Calamari appetizer and my friends had the Pulled BBQ Albacore Tuna and Blackened Salmon sandwiches. Loved the Calamari tentacles and tubes - great texture, not overcooked as I've had at other places. My favorite here is the Seafood Stew - probably the best of any place I've tried. December 10 2023 update: Returned again with friends. Had a bowl of the Seafood Stew and coffee. The stew was as good as I remembered it. Shrimp, mussels, clams, fish - all in a mildly spicy tomato based broth, with garlic toast on the side. This is one of the few places I've seen Oyster Stew on the menu. I bought it to take home and have for dinner. I get the coconut shrimp with a side of fries, best coconut shrimp ever. It’s always perfectly crispy, the mango salsa and fresh coconut on top is a perfect pair and the curry sauce to dip it in is so sweet and slightly spicy I love it! My husband gets the chicken alfredo and he loves the garlic bread that comes with, it is so fluffy and seasoned excellent. Alfredo sauce is always so flavorful and a good large portion. We got the lava cake as well and it was the perfect dessert size. we truly loved our experience here and can’t wait to come back. Staff was super attentive too and we’re so glad they were open despite the storm that was brewing. An excellent dining experience. Out of many wonderful options, we had the grilled salmon with pesto and a blackened rockfish sandwich. Both were delicious! We topped it off with a berry cobbler made in house. The service was friendly and quick. And while it isn’t on the docks itself with a view of the water, it was interesting to watch the fish warehouse across the street load up a semi trailer with bin after bin of frozen fish. That’s when you know it’s fresh!

I love this place! It's on the historic bayfront, which is just awesome! This place is a no frills kinda place with fantastic food! From the stick to your ribs clam chowder, to iconic fish and chips, or a really good burger, you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. My fiancee and I were in Newport visiting family, we're already planning our next trip! The Manila Clams was a tad bit salty but it was so good; seafood stew was the best and YUMMYFUL! The clam chowder was perfectly season, not so thick compare to nearby restaurants, some actual seafoods in it and it was YUMMYFUL! I’ll come back when their credit card machines works! Excellent stop for seafood! We tried the clam chowder which was unique and hearty. The smoked fish platter was incredible and worth the price. The smoked oysters tasted great with the apples and herbed butter. The fish and chips satisfied all my cravings. I went with the halibut and it was impressive. This place does slaw and fries right. The best part of our trip was coming across this gem! They're so good, my wife and I came back the next day for round 2 of their impressive selection and service! Ivonne was absolutely wonderful and brought a dog bowl of water for our pupper who was able to accompany us, we loved the shaded patio with the heat lamp option. You know it's a great experience when others at tables nearby ask what we ordered so they could say "I'll have what they're having." The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, the bathroom was easy to find and the establishment in general was clean and well ran! Glad we followed Ivonne's suggestion of the crab cake entree, the pineapple salsa on top added such a refreshing touch. Prices were so reasonable for the generous portions they give. Delicious steamed clams both days paired with Gino's excellent clam chowder and a few of the mixed sodas really topped off our visit. Photos don't do the taste justice but take my word, it's so worth every penny spent. This place was the best restaurant we visited the whole time we were on the Oregon coast! We came across it while walking around Newport and the menu looked enticing so we decided to give it a try. What a great choice!!! The server was so friendly and everyone there was so accommodating to us bringing our dog to sit on their patio with us! Besides that THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. My wife and I ordered the manila steamer clams to share as well as the crab cake dish. We were absolutely blown away with how flavorful and well presented the dishes were. I posted the pictures so you could see just what I'm talking about. If you want to know what I'm talking about taste wise you will just have to check it out for yourself next time you are in the area 😉 This place was so good that we ended up stopping by one more time before we left to have lunch because we just couldn't stop thinking about how great this place was! Great place in downtown Newport OR for lunch! The Clam Chowder was chunky and delicious. The Shrimp Ceviche was very flavorful and beautifully presented, but the MUST have is the Crab Cake…WOW! They have a good beer and wine selection and the place is decorated in a casual nautical style indicative of the area with seating inside and out. Graecyn was very attentive. Will be back! Enjoyed a beautiful weekend in Newport and, of course, had to have some sea food. I've never been to Gino's before, but I had to give it a try. This will be added to my favorite places to eat on the Oregon coast! First off, the customer service was wonderful, kind, and polite. The whole staff took care of my husband and I, while we got to enjoy our food experience. Here's something in my opinion that may make it easier for you; if you're wanting to do the clam chowder bread bowl but you're worried it might be too much, I suggest getting a side of garlic toast, sour dough bread, or any other bread that's offered there instead. You could dip your bread in the bowl of chowder and not have to worry about over eating. Let me tell you about the chowder. Holy moly, most definitely top 5 BEST clam chowder I've ever had. Is it on the thicker side, yes, but I prefer my chowder on the thicker side because, well, it's chowder. Absolutely delicious, full of clams in every bite, and pure buttery goodness.
