This place is a true gem. I would recommend you to have a lunch or dinner after you visit Malta National Aquarium instead of dining in the crowded restaurant which belongs to the Aquarium. Cant complain. Treated me and my wife very well. Food was quick, fresh and not badly priced either. Decent seating inside and right next to the seafront. We had the fish and chips with split sides of rice as well. And ww had sushi salmon rolls as well as like a starter. Very well put together. A delicious appetizer. A pleasant combination of seafood, feta, tzatziki and olives. Perfectly fried, firm, fresh and crunchy pieces of squid and mini octopus . The addition of cucumbers and tomatoes is very refreshing. Very tasty Mediterranean style rice with salmon. Very aromatic, full of vegetables, colors and flavors. Shrimps with mussels accompanied by fries and rice delighted my boyfriend. The drinks were nicely presented and balanced. The whole thing was a feast for the senses. A place worth visiting. The first restaurant in Malta where I went to eat was Ocean Basket. There was no table available outside (according to staff), although there were at least 7 table with no-one seating at them. He told me that these tables are reserved. I sat inside and waited for half an hour and I have been ‘granted’ a table outside as the 8:00pm booking did not show up. I started with a Negroni, good but not the best. Then I had order the Mussels with shrimp (not king shrimp), green mixed salad with crispy onion and grilled octopus. Absolutely delicious! The green mixed salad had no oil, sauce or salt in it, I believe they can improve that. FYI, I’m not a chef, just my humble opinion. Dessert, some sort of chocolate tart with hot chocolate inside. Best place in town. The staff was lovely and put together a table for us for 9 people instantly. The food came very fast and in exquisite quality. The garlic-feta shrimp is unbelievably good. We had recommended this place to two other couples and everyone agreed that they had best seafood of their lives there! Me and my wife had platter for two and everything was just perfect. If you are in st. Pauls bay you just have to try their seafood. There is a nice terrace from which you can watch beautiful sunsets. So close too be a 5 but just a couple of small hiccups the waitress didn't write down our order she forgot what drink I ordered then she forgot what starter I ordered, too top it off we were asked if we would like our mains first as the scallops would take a while too cook we said it would be OK but even if we didn't it was given too us before the waitress even told the other server . The food was delicious but the scallops were stuck to the shell making them hard too remove. We were here the week before and it was perfect in every way a little disappointing tonight.
