Nick's Rockaway Restaurant en Pacifica

Nick's Rockaway in Pacifica is a great spot for a beachside lunch or dinner. The atmosphere has the vibe of a vintage beachside diner, and they often have live music in the evenings. Service can be spotty, but our server, Armando, was great and incredibly friendly. The pastas are great, especially the lobster ravioli. The garlic bread and oysters are also delicious. The fish and chips, however, are underseasoned and all you taste is the cod and the batter. The crab sandwich is okay, but it's a bit too buttery and oily and is now market price. It's worth visiting to support the restaurant, but be aware of what to order and what to pass on. The signature Dungeness Crab Sandwich is definitely a must-try, and the ocean view is well worth the ride to Pacifica. The Original Joe's chain has a similar level of service, aura, and pricing, but with a bigger menu. The food is highly overrated, the portions are huge, and the prices can be steep. The best thing about Nick's is the location, being next to the ocean and watching the surfers trying to catch a wave. The Dungeness Crab Sandwich is a family favorite, and it's full of crab not fillers, with fresh and toasted bread. The fish tacos are also good, but be aware that they come with white rice, peas, and carrots. It's worth visiting Nick's for the views and the atmosphere, but be aware of the prices and what to order.
