We used to go almost weekly. The appetizers were great as was the service. About a year ago they changed the menu for appetizers which were more expensive and not good. We ordered a salad for appetizer and prime rib dinner specifically requesting the salad first. The. prime rib was served the same time as the salad. Food was top notch! The bread was fresh and had a really good garlic butter that even the really picky 5yr old liked...the appetizer crab cakes with the mustard sauce were top shelf! The ribs were tender and the bbq sauce was amazing.. the Mac n cheese was very good.. the salmon was top 3 in my book and I've had salmon all over the US. The gkids had kids menu burgers and fries and really loved the fries but the burgers were above their palate for 3 and 5yr olds I think.. the pesto chicken pasta was just ok.. it needed something, the pesto was bland and there didn't seem to be any seasoning.. it wasn't bad, it just was ok.. overall a great dinner.. we will be back. Oh wow what a fantastic 36 year anniversary meal we just had at Murphy's. The scallops and risotto were perfect, and I mean perfect! The beet and pecan salad....yum. The food is really good. They need a better selection of appetizers though, too many seafood and fish stuff in that section. Our female server was polite and got our drinks out quickly; a little slow on checking on us once our food finally came. The bus boy was super fast as we watched him, but lacked in people skills when we asked him a question. The desserts are amazing!Managers don't walk by and greet the tables. The atmosphere is great. I believe they want to be considered fine dining, but they are not. The restraunt could be nice, but the dusty fake plants and antiques was a turn off. I should've left. I ordered French Onion Soup. What I received was onion soup ..no cheese, no bread at the bottom. When I asked the waiter about it, he said the cheese is on the piece of bread that came with the soup. There was a light sprinkling of cheese on a piece of bread. I'm not sure who decided you could deconstruct French Onion Soup, but they were wrong. I also ordered the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant. The croissant was dried out, the chicken salad was tasteless. I ordered a side of Ranch to put on the sandwich so it could have some flavor, but I still couldn't eat it. Left 3/4ths of it, a long with the bowl of onion soup. One more thing. My tap beer was warm. I had to add ice from my water. I would've been better off had I bought an egg salad sandwich from the gas station. And that was my $60 lunch at Murphy's.
