My husband and I are both from Europe and loved going to Solvang but we’re a bit disappointed how Americanized a lot of the stores and restaurants were. We walked around for 3 hours and ended up buying pastries here because it seemed one of the most authentic and freshly baked. Stopped in for a coffee and pastry. Ms. Stephanie ended up helping us, and we figured out she was part of the family owned business and got to chatting. We got a great brief history on the bakery and Solvang. After leaving, strolling down the street eating our goods, I’m glad we took it to go. Otherwise, had we stayed I would have bought one of every pastry. Best danish cookies ever as well! I’ll never be able to eat a blue tinned danish cookie again.
